Saw this Eastwood directed movie tonight and it makes for good viewing. Hanks is in fine form as the eponymous captain of the US Airlines plane that ditched into the Hudson, firstly bemused and in shock by the attention he has thrust on him in the aftermath of his grueling experience, and subsequently beset with self-doubt when the thrust of the investigation into the ditching seems to be pointing an accusatory finger in his direction. The drama plays out mostly in re-call as the hearings progress, and while the emotion is in the main low key it still manages under the directors expert hand to rack up a good head of tension as the movie progresses. This is probably a see at home movie, but well worth the time spent in the viewing.
