Favorite Star Wars Episode

What's everyone's favorite scene/episode/aspect of the Star Wars Saga?

I think mine would be a close tie between Rogue One and Empire. I love Empire. It is pretty much the heart of Star Wars. Rogue One made the Force mystic again through characters like Chirrut.

I'm curious to know what you guys think.

My favorite has always been Empire but I would be thrilled to revise my pick if a new episode can meet or exceed. :-)

Haven't watched R1 yet. Aren't you missing Ep VII from there? (I was a bit disappointed by it, but not as much as I was worried I would be...)

(Fave is probably Empire / RotJ, but I didn't hate (most) of the prequels as much as most people seem to.)

Favorite Star wars movie for me remains Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Best suspense, best drama, best character development all the way around.

(And, like Avatar, I didn't despise all the prequels, only The Phantom Menace. In truth, I actually like Revenge of the Sith better than Return of the Jedi.)

Agreed, Episode VII should be in Matthias' poll!

I agree with this in general. Sith is a dark story. The conclusion to a story arc that though we already know its trajectory and destination it is still somewhat chilling to watch it unfold. (Although I have MANY complaints and criticisms about Sith regarding content, pacing and some of the acting. )

Jedi is simply a goofy film through the majority of its running time. Aside from the Vader, Luke, Palpatine conflict, the film lacks the emotional depth of Sith and features Ewoks defeating armed and armored Imperial Troops in the most lazy and clumsily concocted manner imaginable which was designed to enthrall children under the age of 10 and leave adults scratching their heads in bewilderment. :D
The Ewoks should have played a critical role in giving the rebels guidance in their tactics (as with revealing the "back door") but should never have been depicted confronting stormtroopers directly.
Of course that's my opinion and history has decreed otherwise.

REALLY??!! 8O I absolutely LOVED Ep VII! it's my favorite thus far.
I loved Rogue One too but for one aspect of it that I won't even spoiler
here in case anyone who hasn't seen it (Av) is tempted to look at the spoiler.
anyways I didn't vote in the poll cause my favorite is NOT ON THE POLL! :P

we just bought the entire saga digitally so we can watch whenever the mood strikes us. we just watched Ep II this morning while eating breakfast in bed! :D that was fun, although the battle scenes were a bit much in that one I think. prior to Ep VII and Rogue One coming out I think I would have probably said that Ep I might have been my favorite. we'll probably watch Ep III tonight. :D

TESB all the way.

R1 was great, and like Av said, the prequels weren't all bad (but AOTC was.)

Looking forward to buying R1 later this month.

I voted for Episode III.

As much as I loved The Empire Stikes Back I just can't say it is superior to seeing the rescue of Palpatine, and the extraordinary planet of Coruscant on screen.

I almost voted for Phantom. The pod racing is one of the highlights of the entire series. And it has the Tusken raiders - I'm sure are guest characters from Ralph Bakshi's, Wizards.

Which movie 🎥 is the first one from the 70's?

There were two books 📚 that I loved ❤ and still have.

Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina
Tales of the Bounty Hunters

The first told the stories of everyone in the Cantina. All the background characters. The eecond did an origin for all of the nounty hunters that Darth Vader gathered together.

In my humble opinion Star Wars created these awesome bad guys / background guys and either killed them [Boba Fett. General Grievous. Darth Maul.] Or did nothing with them [IG-88. Boshek.]

The first one was A New Hope.

I didn't like General Grievous...weak character. Darth Maul was pretty good...the actors father used to drink in a pub I worked in in London. :D

General Grievous was the beginning of a great character. No way he should have lost the way he did. The writers have to hamstring the badges because the good guys are so weak.

I'll throw my hat in 4's corner. Without it, we wouldn't have had any of the others :D

Although I am quite partial to both Empire and Last Jedi.

Yes, it's probably gotta be New Hope for me too. That or RotJ.
