KW ANTHOLOGY 2017: I have the original documents!
Woohoo!
Jay has sent me the original documents of the first three Kevinswatch Anthologies.
What I'd like to do is go with Jay's suggestion to combine all three books into a single volume and publish it as a compilation.
I will have to re format the original documents to conform to Lulu.com's current guidelines which are a bit complex and specific.
If there is any interest, I think it would be cool to add a limited number of new stories to the book.
It would give those that hadn't had their stories published in the original anthologies a chance to participate.
If we add new material I would need help with editing as I am terrible with punctuation, sentence structure etc.
See the Kevinswatch Anthology Contributor's guide in the newly resurrected Kevinswatch Anthology Forum for details.
If Ali returns she had volunteered to do editing in a different thread.
All the participants will get proper credits for their participation as was done originally.
The book would be offered as a non profit publication and any charges would be strictly for the cost of creating the book. I would also set it up to be downloaded for free.
Lulu includes a free ISBN so the book would be registered and available to general public.
Its also possible to publish the book as a hardback which is very cool but obviously more expensive to purchase. I'd like everyone's feedback on this issue before we go to publication.
I'd like to have the book completed and available on or before November 1st of this year if possible.
I've always enjoyed working on the Anthology project. The level of talent this group possesses is remarkable.
I am opening up this idea to discussion.
Let me know what you think, your excitement and above all if you have concerns.

I hope there will be interested parties wanting to contribute stories, good, bad or even ugly.StevieG wrote:That's awesome Tom! I reckon there'll be a few interested people to contribute some new material. Maybe a "bad writing' section also?
I don't plan on jumping on this project until I hear more from other members.

Fantastic!!
Never having been a part of this, do the stories have to be Covenant related, or just any worthy stories?

All of the stories we've published so far are original works and we have historically avoided fan fiction of any existing property, not that we're against that sort of thing but it just makes rights of publication much less complicated.
Av, maybe the Anthology forum should be re activated after all and this thread should be moved there since the original forum has all of the guidelines posted there.

FYI I am beginning to receive submissions for the new material section of the Anthology which is awesome.
If you are interested in submitting a story you have months to get it finished and submitted. I might force myself to write something for this too.
I will post a firm deadline at some point. It will probably be for September 1st but I need a little time to think it over.
I have started editing the first three volumes together. Its going to take some doing. Its not hard just a bit time consuming so it might take a while.

Yes. Please.
Compile all previous anthologies into an omnibus compilation.
Seeing our old writings in print may just be the shot in the arm that some of us need to start writing again!

BTW I just downloaded the template for the new book from Lulu.
The format is for a 6 x 9 hardback.
I imported all three documents into the template which resulted in a book of 679 pages.
I would love to proceed with the hardback version however there is a 700 page limit. If I didn't change a thing we'd be pushing the envelope so to speak.
I will check on the limits of a paperback version and see if we have any additional leeway with that format.
In any case this is going to be a whale of a book.

Since we've all read the Chronicles, each of which is over 700 pages apiece (I believe), I think we can handle it.
Now if we can get Frostheart to do a cover...

Please don't do that, Sarge. I'm sure you have written something original that can be included.
I don't know why I wrote
Truth is you have several entries in the Hall of Gifts so perhaps something there might work well if submitted.

I have nothing to base that on.SURE.
