This documentary by British director Ross Ashcroft is a searing polemic against the neo-classical economics model of Milton Friedman pursued by western economies since the era of Reagan and Thatcher and explains in depth how the fiat money system has effectively destroyed capitalism's true potential as a system for generating sustainable progress in our world.
Looking at the similarities between different empires past and present, it tells of how we exhibit all the hallmarks of the 'bread and cakes' stage of emporial decline and via the testimony of such notable thinkers as Joseph Stiglitz and Noam Chomsky puts forward some radical ideas as to how things might be set to rights.
