I got the Echo Dot recently, and often start the day anymore with a "Alexa...good morning." Normally she will say hi and give some fact from history that happened on this day. Today, she started by singing some of the original Star Trek music, and it freaked me out.

Does anyone remember the lyrics to the original Star Trek series theme song?
  • Beyond
    The rim of the star-light
    My love
    Is wand'ring in star-flight
    I know
    He'll find in star-clustered reaches
    Love,
Strange love a star woman teaches.
    I know
    His journey ends never
    His star trek
    Will go on forever.
    But tell him
While he wanders his starry sea
    Remember, remember me.
(Yes, it seems to be about kinky sex with aliens.)

Well, it is Kirk we're talking about.

September 28th will mark the 30th anniversary of TNG, which makes me feel old, since I was watching that when it first aired.

(It's all a matter of perspective. You're always the oldest you've ever been. I'm the youngest person in the main group of folks I play WoW with. One of them was recently in a snit about someone my age referring to themself as 'middle aged'.)
