I can't stop watching/ listening to this: Fiery Heart, Fiery Mind

Alice Phoebe Lou is a South African who busked her way through Europe and honed her singer-songwriter persona. I know that I partly love her because she is what I wanted to become when I was her age. I tried, but didn't have the tenacity. (I actually looked almost exactly like her, as well.)

All that aside, I enjoy her music and feel like she is a real discovery. The video above has a real innocence about it. Some of her songs sound like she has been listening to Edith Piaf while hanging around with Amy Winehouse. Others sound like Massive Attack played on toy instruments... I love the non-formulaic surprise of every track.

Well, I just listened to Lou's live version of "She", and I think she has a good voice, and a charismatic stage presence. Good luck to her!

I like the backdrops of what I presume is South Africa. Alice is a creative person, no doubt about it.
