Breathe is an interesting film starring Andrew Garfield, that tells the story of Robin Cavendish who fell victim to full body paralysis subsequent to a polio attack in his mid twenties. Directed by Andy Serkis, the film starts well but somewhat looses it's hold about half way through. Cavendish was nothing if not a fighter, but it was as much his wife's drive that pushed him on as his own, and this story is as much hers as it is his. Always well acted and poignant the film tells a story that demands to be told, particularly in respect of the way severe disability was viewed prior to the pioneering work of the Cavendish family. See it on DVD, TV or wherever - but see it if only for this reason alone.
