Free education, For anyone, anywhere.

Recently come across this online Academy that covers a range of both science and humanities topics in a modular fashion and also (I believe) sets the learner tests in order that progress in any subject may be guaged. Complemented with YouTube lectures, this seems to me a fantastic opportunity for those wishing to gain an education, but for whom the formal routes may not be appropriate. I'm personally very interested in the Art History modules on offer, but before I jump on board, just wondered if anybody has had any experience with, or heard any feedback on this site?

Not entirely opposed to KA in theory [[though many...more than half of the ones I've looked at...and I DID look to shore up some basics of some math fields...of their lessons are really shitty teaching unless you already HAVE a pretty solid basis]]

there IS a utility to it---a tool that COULD be used as part of a good system...like every carpenter needs a good hammer on his/her belt.

totally opposed to any and everyone who think is it education.

One of the big problems we [[in the US, maybe different for peter's place]] HAVE with actual education is people [specifically, the people who build the structure] think KA-like approach IS education and a take//system LIKE KA is a reasonable path to fixing "education" when it is 100% path to ruining it.
[[of course, for us, another part is a lot of people in charge of education...which isn't the Fed's, no matter the bullshit...think the civil war wasn't about enslaving people, math and science have a liberal bias, evolution is false cuz the world is 6000 years old, etc, etc, ad infinitcetera]

Wow there are people that think theres a liberal bias to math and science.

I would think such fields were understood to be apolitical and areligious. Yes .. thats not actually a word but not religious.. and thats the problem for critics of that ilk ... because its hard to take knowledge that conflicts with beliefs. 🤷‍♀️ Enter ... cognitive dissonance 😔
