I liked it. The Duncan looks better than the Connor I think. And the special effects were acctually not bad for being a TV-series. Just a bit strange that there were two immortals born in the same clan....

"I am Duncan MacLeod, born 400 years ago in the Highlands of Scotland. I am immortal and I am not alone. For centuries we have waited for the time of the gathering. When the stroke of a sword and the fall of a head will release the power of the Quickening. In the end, there can be only one."
Here we are, born to be kings,
We're the princes of the universe.

Here we belong, fighting to survive
In a world with the darkest powers.

And here we are, we're the princes of the universe
Here we belong, fighting for survival
We've come to be the rulers of your world.

I am immortal, I have inside me blood of kings.
I have no rival, no man can be my equal
Take me to the future of your world.

Born to be kings, princes of the universe
Fighting and free, got your world in my hand
I'm here for your love and I'll make my stand
We were born to be princes of the universe.

No man could understand. My power is in your hand
Ooh, ooh, ooh, people talk about you.
People say you've had your day.
I'm a man that will go far.

Fly the moon and reach for the stars
With my sword and head held high
Got to pass the test first time-yeah
I know that people talk about me. I hear it every day.
But I can prove you wrong 'cause I'm right first time.
Yeah yeah alright watch this man fly, bring on the girls

Here we are. Born to be kings,
We're the princes of the universe.

Here we belong. Born to be kings,
Princes of the universe. Fighting and free
Got the world in my hands
I'm here for your love and I'll make my stand.
We were born to be princes of the universe.

Is the lyrics for a Queen song?

I believe the Queen song was actually written for Highlander.

Anyway, among my top several shows of all time! I have the first 3 seasons on DVD.

I've mentioned repeatedly that since I was a huge fan of the first movie, I was shocked and disappointed that the powers that be decided to produce 3 sequels and a television series. I watched a few episdodes of the series and didn't think it was too bad though. I still think the tv show wouldn't have been in direct conflict with the first film if the whole thing had been set in the 1960's ending with the inevitable demise of Adrian Paul's character before the Gathering in 1985. Oh well. :-)

Yeah, I always wondered why they didn't try that sort of thing too. Ah well.

But hey, there are some episodes that are astoundingly good! That helps with the ones that are only very good. :) But they aren't all out on DVD yet, so I can't tape them and send them to you. :(

I'm a closet Highlander-maniac...at least for the TV series...I've only seen one of the movies (so far, anyway) and I didn't like it nearly as much as the show.
Anyone else just want to slap Richie most of the time?? Sorry, but he was my least favourite of the regular characters...Joe was the BEST, Fitz and Tessa were probably my faves of the early characters (even though I know they weren't around terribly long, considering...) apart from Duncan, of course...Amanda...nyeh...she's grown on me a bit, but I find she grates on my nerves a great deal of the time.
Adrian Paul is hot.
Sorry, had to say it

I love Highlander. Methos rocks. Whoever had the idea of making him one of the Four Horsemen was a bloody genius... the irony being, of course that Death was the only survivor.

There have been rumors that Adrian Paul was being looked at as the next James Bond. Anyone think that's likely?

I hadn't heard that, but I think he'd be a great Bond.

Just in looks, or acting ability? Because all the stuff I've seen him in, I only ever see him as Duncan MacLeod. He doesn't seem to have much scope, to me.

Mostly, I think, for his suavity and looks - I don't think Bond is a particularly challenging role as far as acting goes, so I don't think he'd have any problem with it.

Also, he's pretty good in action scenes, being trained in martial arts, etc.

Amanda was hot... Mmmmm, oh my....

Oh yeah, I agree, Methos as one of the four horsemen... Awesome!

Oooh. Highlander.

Loved it.

Hated season six.

Loved the horsemen. Kronos was The Scariest Dude EVER.

I have an autographed picture from Valentine Pelka telling me to stop having nightmares about him cause he's really a nice guy.

Heh heh.

I have a friend who is acquainted with him slightly, and she told him I kept having nightmares about Kronos, so he autographed a really scary picture of himself as Kronos telling me this.

I had a good laugh over it.

I guess he's an amazingly nice guy in real life.

That's awesome, Cho! :D I thought Pelka was great as Kronos. He does seem to fit thhat 'evil-dude' stereotype, poor guy.

The whole concept of the Four Horsemen as immortals was inspired (heh, or maybe inevitable), but I think the aftermath of those episodes didn't get enough screen-time.

And the Bond role needs acting ability?!

Yeah, Alynna, I think they killed off the horsemen far too quickly.

I'd have liked to seen a lot more of them (and a lot less of the bleeding roses and other weird crap).

The idea that Methos changed so much is great. Normally, I'd say impossible. But he had a few millennia, so I can see it. He must be haunted at times.

My favorite episode: Duende
Too cool!!! The music and dancing, the night-long fight, the undefinable concept of duende.

I have a great mini-poster from "Duende" off of a calendar, of Duncan and the female lead from that ep in the middle of a dance. My favorite episode had to be "Homeland," though. Loreena McKennitt's "Bonny Portmore" fit there very well.
