Fist, that script is priceless! I got tears in my eyes from laughing. An absolute delight.
Northern Exposure wrote:My piano went supersonic, and for this brief moment, this instrument that I had sat at and sung to and wept over just slipped the bonds of gravity. It soared to its own unimaginable crescendo, as if it would never come down.
HAVE to save that link. :S

Right??? :D How much fun can you have in a tv show???

And the episode that your quote refers to is another of my VERY favorites!!! The quote I gave in the first post of this thread is from that episode.

And here's an awesome quote that Chris gives at the end of another episode, from Marcel Proust's Swann's Way:
When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny, almost impalpable drop of their essence, the vast structure of recollection.

VERY favourites.... as opposed to just ordinary favourites :P Ahh the enthusiasm of the Haruchai

I love Northern Exposure and Im extremely disappointed that our Channel TEN, which is notorious for screening re runs after re runs of defunct TV shows, hasnt decided to do the same with this one.

:D Where NX is concerned, I can't think of an episode that isn't at least a normal favorite. :D

When I ordered my first season of NX, secondhand off Amazon, I discovered that they are also selling the second season.

8O 8O 8O I haven't looked in this thread in weeks!!! THANK YOU, JOY!!!!! I had no idea!!! My local Suncoast store closed, so I'm stuck with Media Play. Same company, but Suncoast only did movies. They had intelligent people, both willing and able to help customers. Media Play is crapola.

Hmm, I should look for season 2 of Kung Fu too.

My Favorite episode is the one where the stress of the spring ice break causes the white folks to all freak out. What is that episode called?

Ever read "Letters to Cicely" the book?

"Spring Break" Yes, I love that one, too. Been a while since I watched it -- will have to get that out.

It is surprising me how few episodes there are in this set. I've watched the 1st disk, only 4 episodes, and there are only 2 disks in the box. Come on, this is a whole season??

Had forgotten the full impact of how badly Maurice sings.

Maybe I'll give this show another shot. I loved the 1st season, but I thought it started losing it as it got more popular. Blockbuster ought to have it for rental.

Yay, Fist!! I'm happy for you. :D :D I'm happy for both of us. So far I've watched Shelley and her home shopping addiction, Chris-in-the-Morning get his voice stolen, and Ed's invisible friend.

My fave of all time, is when DR Kapra first comes to Sicilly, and Joel fianally gets to go back home, but not before his last life altering quest.
