Yeah, I really enjoyed the first season! I remember Fenris from the comics. Always an unclear thing, but pretty cool. The grandfather was awesome!

I've lost track of all the teenagers with mutant superpowers running around the cableverse.
I'd like to see a show where Dad gets mutant superpowers. Like a form of telekinesis that mows lawns, or something.

No TV show, book, comic book, or movie has ever depicted what would *actually* happen if super powers really did manifest in people. Within 20 years, the supers would be the ruling class of the world and all of human society would be built on a simple scenario--if you are a super then you are a demigod; if you are not then you are a plebe.
Alternatively, if you are a super you either wind up working for the government or you go to super prison--make a choice. Of course, the government supers would eventually *become* the government and then we are back to the first scenario.
Besides, script writers typically don't know enough about general science to come up with truly great ways in which super powers can be applied. You recall that trick Neo did with bullets? Every telekinetic can do that, as long as they are "pushing" ahead of themselves and they are either sufficiently powerful or far enough away from the gun.
Telepaths, even moderate ones, would wreck most other superhuman characters. Secret identity? *pfft* Not any more.

I wonder why no one has thought of more practical super powers

All super powers have practical applications, if only the people writing those stories would stop and think about them from a scientific point of view once in a while.

.. yes indeed
Though I would laugh lots if there was a dad whos superpower was a kinetic connection to his lawn mower ... lawn mowing .. or toilet bowl scrubbing.
Id like a roller painting kinesis .. where the simple desire to pain the house .. would transform the roller brush into action and take a fraction of the time to complete.
That would be fabulous.

There is a minor power already in existence which allows its user to change the color of an object--the very lesser-known Legion of Super Heroes character Color Kid had this ability. There are actually dangerous uses for this power--suppose you are a bomb-maker but once you have your device armed and in place *all* the wires are blue wires, making it impossible for anyone to know which one to cut. If you are some sort of anarchist you can also make all the painting in a museum blank white canvases.
Alternatively, you could have "alchemy" as a power, allowing you to convert the exterior of your house to some material which has the color you want it to have.
Anyway, telekinesis is the most dangerous power. If it operates at line of sight you can hide while you pop someone's eyeballs, which requires only 5.5 kg of force, which isn't very much. Or you just squeeze their carotid artery shut and kill them that way.
The problem with doing super powers in that sort of adult way is that you totally ruin super-powered characters for children even though super powers in the real world would make for an incredibly dangerous and highly-volatile world. Not even I am certain I would want to live there.
