Lysol- The Power That Preserves

I believe it was at the end of the Real Story, when SRD said someone asked him where do you get your ideas?
He then told a humorous anecdote of how one of the most powerful scenes in the Power that Preserves came to him sitting on a toilet in a K-mart/Target bathroom reading the back of a Lysol can.
I can only figure one of two parts fits: when Lord Morham stabs Satansfist w/the krill, or
when the Collossus exterminates the ravers inhabiting Whane and Lal.
Personally, for me it's got to be the Colossus.
What do you think?

I thought that that question, in some form, would be a good one for Elohimfest.

I think I heard somewhere that the Lysol was the inspiration for The Pure One...

This has come up a few times, and I don't think anyone here knows the answer. Those fortunate locals who are attending the US Elohimfest will definitely have slap SRD until he spills the beans...

Hey this is a good question!

The obvious answer is - the jheherrin.

I didn't even think about the part with the Pure One! If you are going to Elohimfest be sure to ask; I've got to know!

I have heard this posited before a very long time ago .. mmm .. which makes me wonder Baradakas if you are in possession of an alter indenity

I'm not really sure how to respond to that Skyweir.

Especially since you are the second mod to say that to me. The first time was understandable, since I seem to be able to sticky topics even though I'm not a mod. However, at the risk of going into a tangent; I am 26 yrs. of age, I live in Omaha, Neb., I love to write, and I didn't know SRD had a BB until last week, at which time I promptly signed up. I'm not sure why people keep thinking I'm some sort of alter identity, but I am not. Also, I'm not trying to be an ogre (I think you call them trolls here), but I'd really like to be seen as an individual, not some enigmatic alter self.
- I would like to apologize, though if that was not your intention. I'm really a nice guy, but some people have hinted at some weird thing that's been going on but refuse to discuss it. While I have no desire to probe the inner politics of this board ( I'm here to enjoy the company of people like myself), I have no wish to be drawn into them either. I hope you understand, and take no offense.
Really a Nice Guy,

Just to clarify: I think I was the one who started a thread with the same topic some time ago - was it two years? Maybe still on the old forum. And I am definitely not Baradakas. I think. Have to check once more... erm...

Baradakas and I have emailed it each other and I chat to him a bit. He's definitely no one else from the watch.
Let's give the guy a chance and not be paranoid, people?

Thanks, Urvile. I've been feeling a bit salty about this topic, since A: I'm new to this board, and B: I haven't a clue WHY people are saying these things to me. But hey, that's fine. I think what's irking me the most is that while I'm feeling slightly unwelcome here it isn't because some troll is doing it; it's the MODS. Please keep in mind that I understand the circumstances, (sort of) and not knowing if the person your replying to is someone tricking you or not. But my ability to sticky is some kind of programming ACCIDENT, and the fact that I have brought up a topic that has come up before isn't all THAT surprising is it? Here's an excerpt, however of a conversation between urvile and I:
Baradakas: yeah, thought it was kinda rude to make accusations against a new member in their first week
Ur-Vile: i agree
Ur-Vile: it wouldnt make you feel very welcome
Baradakas: makes the whole board look bad
Ur-Vile: but it's still a nice place, overall
Baradakas: I know, actually it's not that they were actually mean...
Ur-Vile: yeah
Baradakas: but I'd like to be recognized as me, not someone else
Ur-Vile: i understand
Ur-Vile then posted in my defense, for which I'd like to thank him again.
I'm hoping this will clear things up for everyone. Honestly, everyone, I am a nice guy, and I hope you understand that I'm not ATTACKING anyone. I just want to be me.
Hoping it all works out,
-B

Wow - behind the scenes at Kevin's Watch.
I don't have a clue about any of this...but I say welcome aboard Baradakas.

Baradakas:
Sorry that some misunderstanding has made you uncomfortable. (I don't know anything about it.) But now that you've spoken on the matter, I'm sure there'll be no problem.
Actually, iirc, when I start a new topic I'm offered the sticky option. I just don't start many and never gave it a thought. I'll look next time.
Be welcome and true.

Guess I didn't use enough
I'm sorry Baradakas. I was joking, and even though that wasn't my intention, I guess, in retrospect, it was kind of at your expense.
I had no reason to think you were anyone other than a new member with a computer glitch, nor did I. I honestly thought it was a weird fluke, and that, combined with you being a new member, caused me to make a joke that no new member could understand.
We do have several members who like to play around, creating new identities......even having entire conversations with themselves.
I think I have something to say about that in another thread.....
At any rate, Baradakas, "Who are you really?" was something of an "in" joke, that you couldn't possibly have understood, and it was in bad form for me to ask it of you. I apologize for that, and I apologize especially if I have in any way made you feel unwelcome here.
Be very welcome at KW!! (If I haven't said so before

) Any new member is an asset to this community, and I promise your individual insights will be as valued as anyone else's.

I don't think it's neccessary to mention that when I wrote that last post I was a little perturbed. There were whisperings of goings-on that I didn't understand at the time that I signed on to this BB, but I had (after a few days) learned it had to do with this identity crisis. Then suddenly, people were asking me who i was, and all I could think to do was ask the people who had welcomed me as friends for advice. Namely, Urvile and Darth Revan. Though they didn't really explain much, they did warn me to stay out of it. Period. So you can imagine my frustration when it begins to appear (to me, at least) that I am being drug into it against my will. B&B, I truly appreciate you responding to my post. It shows that you, and the other mods care.
Thanx

Indeed. I had a little chuckle at bnb and Skyweir's posts (you can usually tell when someone's joking if they use an

emoticon) and it just never occurred to me that you, or anyone, might not get it. In retrospect, I suppose it's easy for the established members to forget that sometimes our little in-jokes will completely go over the heads of new people. I don't think anyone has seriously taken you for an alter-ego of someone else, but we should all certainly be more careful about throwing those kind of comments around, even in humour.
You are nothing but welcome here, Baradakas. Forgive us our bad jokes

oh dear dear dear .. it most certainly was not my intention to draw something insidious and ill in my comment .. I simply confused your post with that of amy's original thread some years ago .. it rang a bell is all .. and i couldnt actually recall who it was that began it that long ago ..
all i knew is that i had heard it before .. lol
definately no paranoia here!! personally i dont see an issue with alter-identities .. nor do i with a great amount of silly stuff that from time to time goes on ..
there is nothing bad here .. nor anything untoward intended .. lol .. just to say .. were you here some years ago when the Watch first began .. and did you raise this unusual topic then referencing Lysol ..
and lol .. i was hoping a secret hope .. that you were a long lost cherished member from ages ago .. Juntel .. but alas you are clearly not he ..
no harm intended .. and i hope when you get to know me you will know not to worry about such things ..
its all good ..
and as for being dragged into any unpleasantness .. I prefer not to see unpleasantness unless I have to!! lol ..
i tend to see everyone in superlative terms unless i am presented with uncontrovertable evidence to the contrary!!
be welcome baradakas .. be welcome and true ..
