CCG card selling

I'm not sure what forum would be the best for this topic, so I'm throwing it into the general one.
Anybody ever try to sell cards from card games, such as Magic: The Gathering?
I found I have some cards that I put away but played with for a while that have some value. I'm just curious if anybody has any tips so that I don't get ripped off trying to sell them.
I'm not in a hurry to sell them, so I can take my time and get a good value. Any guesses? Does it help to get them appraised or something?

Sorry, no experience with card games at all.

Guess something like these guys might be a place to start looking?

That looks handy, and a fairly easy way if I don't want to take too much time with it. But again, I'm in no hurry, and I don't feel comfortable just giving them my stuff and expecting fairness, especially with some of the reviews I read. It did tell me I could stand to make about $4500 if they were in perfect shape. And sadly, they are not. But they are not too bad either.

I also have a large pile of M:tG cards (from Fallen Empires to Scourge) which are too valuable to throw out but too hard to sell.

I always figured I'd eventually find someone who'd buy the lot, and I'd get far less money than I might have, but what can one do? If I sell them individually then I would probably get rid of the best couple hundred and then be stuck with the rest. And who would then want to buy the lot when the best cards have been taken out?

Sorry to be another vote of "I dunno," but I just badly wanted to say this:
"I haven't played M:tG, but I am the sort of person who just had friends regaling us with a hilarious story from a pre-pre-release (exhibition?) match."
Like last night.
(It was the story involving pocket bacon.)

anyway, now that I posted I feel obligated to mail this question to a few ppl who may know better than I.
