The impeachment was based on a lie. Eric Ciaramella--everyone knew his name already, they were just too scared to say it--was not in the room when the phone call with Ukraine occurred but he got his knickers in a knot because the President dared to be pursing agendas or policies with which Mr. Ciaramella disagreed. He screeched loudly enough that one or two people listened which gave the Democrats in the House all the reason they needed to impeach.
Impeachment was a farce and it failed as it should have. It was so much of a failure that it was not even used to campaign against Trump. The House should never have impeached over this--Trump did not violate any law or the constitution by speaking with the Ukraine President.
