The Mandalorian

Post by darthbuzz »

I loved this show and really looking forward to the second season. This can go on for the rest of my life if it wants.
The theme tune by Ludwig Gorensson really fitten in with the show and I hope they don't change it.

So much good in it. Like the Jawas in action, seeing an IG-88 like droid in action, the heist episode, Amy Sederis joining the Star Wars universe, and so much more.
Anybody watching the behind the scenes stuff, like the one of on the directors? And the second with Filoni perfectly summing up what the whole Star Wars thing is about? Again why Dave Filoni should be the one in change of the license from here on out. He gets it.
Can't wait to finish the last season of the Clone Wars.

The trailer for Mando Season 2 might be the best Star Wars since Empire.

(Do you mean Season 2 is the best Star Wars? Or the trailer is? :))

Your loss. It's a great show. It's basically those old Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns where he was a man with no name or whatever mixed with Star Wars, and a little more. Can't wait for season 2. I really hope they keep the mood of the piece going. And that they don't reveal too much too quickly about Mr. Mando (I know he's been given a name now, but I don't want to look it up).

And hearing that Robert Rodriguez is directing an episode this season - hell yeah.

Cags, I meant I was not watching the trailer.

I enjoyed season 1. It was more light-hearted than I was expecting. Also, it has the vaguest of plots and yet it still works somehow ... it's character work that makes that happen. It doesn't remind me of spaghetti westerns so much as those old TV adventure shows like Kung Fu, the Man from Atlantis, Six Million Dollar Man, etc. You can almost here the Hulk credit song at the end of every episode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_lYcTxncNg

First episode of season 2 knocked out of the park. I wonder what today's episode will be.

... except I thought it a bit odd that
Spoiler
the Mandalorian would agree to take on a dangerous mission to get back the armor, armor which was stolen and (in some sense) being sacrileged.

No one wants to mention ... nay, have it even tarnish one's mind with thoughts of it ... the end of Season 2?
Spoiler
It sucked.

I grudgingly gave in and watched it a while ago, as other options are increasingly thin on the ground (I've seen everything. Please ask). Glad I did. Unlike Firefly which, to me, was cowboys in space for the sake of cowboys in space, the western motifs actually added value to the plot and characterization.

My favorite character ended up being Bill Burr's. I just didn't see it coming, and the arc was actually far less melodramatic than I've come to expect from Star Wars these days.

Some of the acting isn't great, and I feel like Esposito was a bit wasted in that role, but overall I really enjoyed it. Yeah, the finale was a bit meh, but really my only problem is that Boba Fett showing up just when he did and having as much of a part as he did felt like a big Deus ex Machina to me.
