okay, now don't get me wrong; I am a huge Star Trek fan. But come on, can we do something a little closer to home. We have suffered over several years of boldly going where no one has gone before(st:tos, st:tng, st:voyager, st:enterprise), and and wipeing the windshield at an interstellar gas station(ds9). I think it is time to explore the inner workinigs of Starfleet Command, the trials and tibulations of young budding strship captains etc. Now i am not saying anything like 90210 for the 24th century, but come on, let's go to school. What have you got to say about that Tom C.!!!?!!!

Although I didn't want to explore StarFleet Academy back when Enterprise was annonced, I have changed my tune now that I've seen how thoroughly the producers of Star Trek have screwed me over, I'm all for the approach you mention in your post. BTW. Welcome Lord Absinth. Welcome indeed!

I don't really care what they do as long as they quit with the long, stale story arcs. I like my episodes... episodic.

and just what are your episodes???

I think the current story arc of enterpise is killing me the way Syl seems to hate them. I agree that episodic stories are much more enjoyable.

Well, the three question marks kind of gave it away, but I didn't think you were serious so I didn't give a serious answer. "Just what" are my episodes. Unless you're implying that I "have episodes," in which case, I haven't had any since I got the new meds.

Seriously, what I was saying is that I like episodes that are episodic or self-contained (though still allowing for character growth, of course). How many ST:TNG eps can you remember that you couldn't understand what was going on if you hadn't watched it since last season? I think that's the biggest thing I had against DS9. I couldn't stand trying to keep track of all the goings on of the dudes that lived inside the wormhole, or the big bad dudes on the other side of it. Some eps, especially the earlier ones, were decent. House of Quark, for example. Good stuff. Voyager got a little worse in that respect, but there weren't too many and they weren't too long. Enterprise is nothing but story arcs.

I understand and agree with you completely Syl, I am a huge star trek fan and have actually enjoyed several of the story lines in all of the sseries with the exceptioon of DS9, i lost interest after the first 10 minutes of the first show after the beautifull battle sequences they showed of wolf 359. as far as enterprise....it took a few eps..but i am growing to like it more evry week, and i think Archer would put up a good fight to answer the the age old question ""whos is the better captain""?

Doesn't it bother you at all that the writers of Enterprise have thrown out the continuity of the established Star Trek mythology in order to present the Xindi crapola. Or the Temporal Cold war? I will forever believe that the first instance of a star fleet ship or crewmember traveling through time occured in the original series. I think the precise episode is "Tommorow Is Yesterday". It just bugs me. I didn't mind how things got started. I liked how they handled the Andorians. It bugs me that the Vulcans seem so annoyed and hot headed as if a hundred years is going to make so much difference in their attitudes. And then don't get me started about finding the Borg on earth. AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!

Huge ST fan? I thought you were only 5' 10".

Now, to my "amusing" comments: Gene is dead; stop spitting this trash out in his name! Of course, I have no idea if it is indeed trash, because I pretty much stopped watching ST in a latter season (what was it, 7? I remember Worf and Deanna whiny-assed Troi started dating and Data was dating somebody; why the hell they didn't just call it Star Trek: The Dating Game?) of NG, the season where the whole cast, crew and writers were assimilated by a form of sterile mediocricy even more insideous than the Borg. I liked DS9 somewhat, but absolutely hated STV, and won't watch an episode of the new series until they at least dump the evil Count Bakula.)

Worf, Troi.

I agree but I watched all that stuff anyway. It isn't all bad. It just isnt all good and thats what I want. Perfection! Star Trek II level perfection. Each and every week or by Grapthar's Hammer I will see Gene Avenged!!!!!!!!!!

well, i realy like enterprise, i have not missed an episode yet and i think ""Count Bakula"" is doing a preety good job...although i agree with tom about the whole xindi thing and continuity. it seems they might be getting closer to what I would liek to see, star trek: starfleet command or star trek: starfleet academy. come on peopel bring the ship home....we've been wandering around in this bucket of bolts since 1987 , can we come home now??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
