Think maybe I should say a little more on this. I was feeling like there wasn't a lot of game in the game, with the characters not really making use of their attributes, and I also felt like I hadn't really got the balance right of how success and failure should work with the dice rolls. So I went back to the original document for Simple World that I'd based the system on and had a reread and a think about how things should work. As a result, I decided to lean a bit more on the dice rolls, and got a clearer picture of what it would mean if you rolled a particular result.
You're seeing that now in the latest response I gave for Richard Slade.

If you have any comments or concerns about this change please speak up, it is something that might shake up the way the game's been going so far and I don't want it to feel like I'm being unfair.

I don't think I have a problem with this, although it severely limits Richard's ability to interact with anyone - seeing he's charmless ;)

In the current situation, he basically has to back away, instead of intimidating the guard (for example), because any further interaction means a -1 penalty. It will probably limit his ability to approach anyone with an innocent request. So yes, it will impact how the game is played from my perspective.

To be fair, you could still try things, especially if you have bonuses to them, since it's only a -1. All about odds, really.

Just popping in to let you know I am around and keeping an eye on things, but I also understand if work and other real life commitments take priority over the game at this time, which is why I haven't said anything. There's no pressure here.

The game is currently still in "you have time to stop and discuss what's about to happen" mode, but whenever you folks feel like you've said all there is to say to each other all you need to do is let me know you're ready to move on.

I'm happy to wait for Caam to be more available. I'm around a bit at the moment with the Pink Floyd review going on, and some Gap Cycle dissections in the planning. So ready to keep going when others are around.

Apropos of nothing:
If your character could take a vacation anywhere at all in this imaginary fantasy world that we have not at all described or explored, where would they go?

Not that it matters, but I'm still lurking in the peanut gallery, hoping for advancement of the story...

Yeah, just as we were about to do something interesting one of our players went MIA, and I couldn't see a decent way to keep things going, so we just have to wait until everyone's able to find time for it again.
