(And FWIW, as far as I'm concerned, all of your user names are your real names. :D Even if I happen to know your other name. Which in most cases I don't. :D )

It might be worth a rename at some stage.

I say leave the name alone. Cags created and named the thread. To me it is poignant naming and becomes part of his spirit and memory.

Can I put an alternative point of view.

Cag's thread was a testament to his courage. The name he gave it was an appropriate one for him at the time (though we all recognise the 'tongue in cheek' nature of the name - this was the man all over) but does it still serve us as a remembrance of the friend we have lost?

Absolutely, I go with any decision made on this score, and indeed will always see his irrepressible humour in the name in any case, but I don't think he would have any problems with us changing it if that is what we choose to do.

No matter what the decision is, the thread's presence will serve as a reminder to me - to us all - of the contribution that he made to the Watch, to his family and to the world no less, by virtue the simple fact of his being. The reading of his posts was a salutary reminder to me of the continual need to try to be better.

Perhaps we can find a name that sums this up better, or just perhaps abbreviate it to "Cag's Thread."

But I rest in the capable hands of our mods on this and will be entirely at ease with any decision made.

Good post peter. If we were to change it, I would simply choose "Cagliostro" to compliment "Furl's Fire".

But I don't have a strong opinion either way.

Farewell Cags
It's strange, this world we're living in. I never knew his real name. Cags was enough.
I met him at E'fest 2014 and to the best of my memory, never heard his name. He was just Cag. He was a lot of fun that weekend, he laughed a lot, especially at and with CJenn and his friend who also attended, whose username I've forgotten.

Godspeed, Cag.

Possible to put a picture of Cags up in any form? I know there is a good one with him and Fist somewhere (from when Fist made his visit). Perhaps he'd consent to its being used?

From the Album, a shot by his friend bossk taken during the 2011 Elohimfest

(I tried to post this as an embedded image, but could not get it to work, but it does work as a clickable link...)

Thanks SD. Alas the image won't load on my somewhat archaic device - I just get a 'not authorized' message (as opposed to the normal little square boxy thing that tells me an image is unavailable).

Not to worry however. The pleasure of Cags' company is in his words, the mind that shines through them. This will not ever be lost. Joy is in the ears that hear.

I remember Cags and Bossk well from 2014 and I've followed Cags' posts on fb. So young and full of life and so brave at the end. It's difficult to know what to say when the young die too early. The best we can do is to keep friends who are no longer with us in our memories. At my age my memory box is filling fast, most of my good friends being older than me.

Hi Iolanthe!

Gosh how I wish I'd been there. I remember that you went over with..... racking brains....... the guy who used to work on his brother's farm.....name began with C...... - dang, it escapes me .......Cambo maybe?

I know he said your boundless energy nearly had him flat on his back!

Nice to crose paths (even in such a place - I'm sure Cag would approve!) Hope all is well in your world, even if the times are somewhat difficult.

Hi Peter, it was Ussissimiel - or any other spelling, known generally as "U". I remember it the other way round, he walked me into the ground! Funny, it came up on my fb this morning as 8 years ago today that we walked miles in Santa Fe.
