Why No Map?

Am I the only one who wishes the publisher would have included a map with Donaldson's new trilogy? Place is so important to the story Stephen is telling and having a visual representation of where things are would have been extremely helpful. Any fans out there with a modicum of drawing skills?

I also like maps. But as I recall, SRD wasn't overly keen on a map even with the Chronicles.

I agree that a map gives great context to the story (but it is partly what I do for a living so there may be some bias there :D )

Donaldson once said that he didn't publish maps with Mordant's Need because the location/world was not part of the story (as it was with the Chronicles) and it would detract from the characters.

I don't know as he ever said anything about The Great God's War. But something similar may be applicable.
