A couple of episodes into this and loving it!
A creepy telling of the doomed Franklin expedition of 1845 to discover the North West passage, the series stars Jarred Harris and Ciaran Hands as the captains of the two ships that forge their way into the Arctic ice-pack never to return. The series is based upon a Dan Symonds novel which, although surrounding the events of a historical expedition, is bound to have Symonds particular brand of macabre tension about it, and I'm not in truth, quite sure to what extent this will divert into the realms of the fantastic yet. But to date it has been so well done that it is in no way a problem; the suspension and tension is being wracked up, the dogs are being slaughtered, the men beginning to crack and the sleds being hauled over the ice getting heavier by the minute.
