The epiphany of vinyl

I'm not a luddite.
But tonight I was at a friend's house listening to songs I know very, very well on his turntable.
Holy crap, I've missed surface noise.
Physical Graffiti hasn't sounded this good in 30 years.
I ditched my 400 or so vinyl records when CDs came to the forefront. I really regret that now.
And I see that I'm going to spend a fortune buying a turntable and stylus, as well as a ton of records to reclaim this sonic sound.
Dammit.
