instead, she cobbled
and cracked the sky.
forced to read terrible
poetry. until Beowulf.
Frost is a monster?
a walk between me
and farmer neighbors.
but I want dragons!
the revelation? Erath
moved to Houston then,
a horror poet & author.
Erath started living in
Houston. her first book
of poems, "Glass Ghost"
"Glass Ghost" is cement
for Erath's reputation, for
darkness and wit. of blood-
stained flowers, fairy tales,
and poisons, a beautiful
but jagged collection. set
poetry as a form, sonnets
and limericks and haikus.
free verse. lose the meter,
horror and dark poetry in
telling little stories, genre
tropes, aliens and ghosts.
poetry can do that, a vibe
& sense of being. readers
able to open the darkness.
