Self-portrait 2024

Post by Cord Hurn »

I'm Murrin usually creates these beginning-of-year photo drop threads, but I haven't seen him around here in KW lately, so I'll initiate the one for this year.

This is a selfie I took yesterday, January 5, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. I have also placed it in The Motley Crew photo album within the Gallery.

KW members, please feel free to use this thread to show us a recent photo of yourselves!

[Edited several times to try to get the image to show up in my post, to no avail. But you can still see it by going into the gallery.]

Nice one CH. Love the handlebars!!

I'd forgotten about that tradition - we missed January 1st, but not to worry!

Here you go, here's a selfie from right now (First day back at work and I'm really excited about it...):

Don't have the tech or competence to do this, but think a cross between George Clooney and Sean Connery, silver hair and twinkle in my hazelnut eyes (colour, not size), lopsided grin - no scrub that.....makes me look weird.....

Hell just use your imagination!

(I was once mistaken for Eric Bristow if that's any help. ;) )

I just looked up Eric Bristow, and now I have an image in my head!

Peter, just take a photo and click “Add Files” when composing the message. As long as your file is small (less than 256 kb) it will add an image to your message. Easy!

I don’t take selfies often. This is the most recent about a week before American Thanksgiving.

I was fortunate to meet @Cord Hurn once at a show @aTOMiC and @dANdeLION did in Tampa many years ago before I moved to the Eastside of Seattle.

*edit*
My memory is probably going. @Savor Dam points out that he believes it was
cherval I met at that performance in Tampa, not @Cord Hurn.

 Alas, Stevie G - Don't have a phone to take a picture with. But will try to get a more tech orientated family member to do it for me.

Savor Dam is right.

I met Menolly and SD at Elohimfest 2014 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I remember joking with Savor Dam and Menolly in danlo's and Lady Tamarantha's backyard there about the Lauren Bacall line to Humphrey Bogart in the 1944 movie To Have And Have Not: "If you need me, just whistle. You know how to whistle, don't you? You just put your lips together and blow." (SD had previously referenced that movie line in the "Hopeful Riders: Grand Reopening" thread in this General Discussion forum, after I had posted about trying to whistle properly to get a Ranyhyn to come to me.)

And I remember having an animated and most enjoyable discussion with Menolly in the kitchen there about the works of Anne McCaffrey! I thought it was really cool.

I have never met the two of you (or any other Kevin's Watch member, for that matter) at any other time or place.

Yeah, that's still a work in progress, (restoring all the gallery images I mean). More will be added back in coming (weeks?) :D

Can't do anything about externally hosted stuff obviously, but I will get back to re-posting gallery images. (Just FYI, since I'm having to do it manually, they all look like the been uploaded by me, but I'm trying to manually edit that if I know who posted it. If you spot any of yours that don't list you as the uploader, just drop me a PM with links and I will fix.)

(That goes for everybody obviously.)

Here's another attempt at resizing a self-portrait, taken a few minutes ago as I get ready to go out to dinner (I set my phone upon a stand and set a timer).
