(edit Feb 12th: The Official site just opened today see Announcements)
Any and all SRD covers you can find, possess, and scan are needed for the covers gallery at the Official Stephen R. Donldson website-they should, preferably, be 300 pixels high. It's okay if they are bigger as we can scale them down. We've looking for the finest resolutions possible. European covers are very welcome!

Please DO NOT post them here. Send them to the address below. Please do not inquire about the website at this address. You can ask questions about the site or tell us where me might go to find a cover you can't transfer in this thread. You can ask-but you may not, initially, get the answer(s) you are looking for...

johnf@eccker.org

Please don't bother the person at this email address-even if you think you know-please don't talk about it here.

What little I can tell you now about the site:
*You will not find it on the web
*It is a proto-site under developement
*The people who are working on it are all major SRD fans
*SRD has the last word on all production decisions (It's his, afterall 8) )
*The Watch is the prospective discussion board
*SRD will decide when to put the site on the net
*You will be very happy!!!

Again: like Runes, the less you moan and groan-the less you bother anyone you think might be involved-the better quality site you will receive :) (and please don't slam me w/messages about this-I can only release info as SRD and the team deem fit to allow me-I've probably blabbed too much as it is... )

The best part of the whole thing is that they are making me the Mod of the site.

Anyway, what are you looking for? You have a ton of that stuff on this site.

I sent a bunch of interesting french covers (surrealist stuff) for Mordant and the first Chrons and the covers to the various anthologies: Strange Dreams, Wizards of Odd, etc.

Cool--this has probably been mentioned somewhere else this morning-but if you see the board colors changing it is because the site team is trying out new themes in order to match the Watch to the site. This brown is weird and different, but I like it...

Thanks for the update, Danlo! I for one trust you and your colleagues to do a fantastic job with the new site development!

For what it's worth - the brown is hard on the eyes.

Is there going to be a "wish" list posted? Or a please do not send anymore of these covers list? I have all the Thomas paperbacks plus some of the bookclub Hardbacks and regular print Hardbacks that I could scan, but I don't want to waste your time and mine by sending in the 300th Lord foul's Bane cover :)

Negative.

It's fine by me and I'm the only one that matters. Although some things do need to change, for instance while I'm writing this "Post a Reply" above is difficult to see. I can read everything else quite easily.

I'll start scanning soon and send the images to that email address.

I certainly don't think the brown is hard on the eyes, though it is a peculiar choice for a color scheme...it's mostly pretty decent, but I think you could pick a better color than the middle brown you're using as the background (not the message background, but rather the BG behind that...and the one used as a background in the message field of the reply page).

Thanks, just keep em coming! We'll let you know when we can't take no more...(I knew Zeph was SRD all along...but I didn't think he was such an angry person... :P )

grrrrrrrrrrrr :x :x

Not going to believe this, but I had all intentions of scanning the jackets from the original hardcovers I have of all six books. They are in great shape because when I read the Chrons, I read from my paperbacks, so the Hardcover jackets are like new. Anyway...I went to scan them earlier today, and our scanner literally blew up!!! 8O 8O Smoke and everything!! The fire alarm even went off!!! 8O 8O 8O

So much for that, and I really wanted to help with the new site

Talk to Vain about that Furls-it might be possible to take digital photos of them and either email them to him or upload in the Gallery--depending on what he says--and then he can send them along...(Geez! Sorry about your scanner! 8O )

I'm going to get a new scanner, I used the old one as a "copier" too, which is probably why it finally blew up, overuse. hehehehe. Probably won't be until this weekend tho. Will that be too late for cover scans???
