This orange color, if by design, isn't an advance in clarity.

I thought it was my computer. <whew> Mine has a black background with squares of maroon, and the link lettering is clear but it is in bright orange. The buttons are black, the message letters are white. It looks scary.

That's just the new colour scheme, and it looks pretty good, IMO...

Rivenrock, Damelon, and Joy - are you still getting the weird colours?

Yes, it's horrible. I have to select the quotes in order to read them, but otherwise I can read it when I concentrate. It's just that deep maroon on black is such a ghastly color scheme I hate to look at it for any length of time.

I turned my computer all the way off and on again, but it didn't make any difference.

Yeah, it's still weird. eg this box I am now typing into is burnt orange and the area around it is brown. The writing is white, so I can read that easily. The links that are pale orange I can read now, although they aren't really that clear. But yesterday there was some writing (I THINK it was the links) that I couldn't see at all unless I highlighted them. Going by Joy's comment, maybe it was the quotes.)
