signatures
After kinda laboring over mine for a while, I thought I'd ask everyone about the signifigance (or insignifigance!) of their signatures.
I have my favorite part of my favorite poem by Lewis Carrol in mine, Jabberwocky. Then, there's "Further up, and further in!"- kinda my trademark, from The Last Battle by CS Lewis, one of my favorite books. Lastly, is one of my favorite Robert E Lee quotes. Lee is one of my favorite historical characters, a general and more importantly a man who I admire for many reasons, on and off the battlefield.
What about you?

I probably change my signature more than anybody else on the Watch. I like to spice it up and give people insights to my character by quoting from the stuff I read, watch, just plain enjoy, etc.
The quote I currently have (Learn, Love, Live) is the most personal to me. It's a long story, but to try and make it as short as possible . . . I once played a video game called Ultima Online. It's an online game where people all over the Internet come together and form communities or just fight each other. When I was a "newbie" in the game I ran into a "school", called West Yew University. It was called that because it was, well, in the west of Yew.
Anyway, to make the story shorter, I joined it in early January of 2000, which feels like a thousand centuries ago. They helped school me in the ways of the game's world and they helped me build my sword fighting skills in the game. I made my first friends in the game there. The school's founder, Silver Dryad (her in-game name), had made the school's motto "Learn, Love, Live". It was at the end of the little diplomas they gave us on graduation. When I joined WYU, Silver had long left, but her school lived on for quite some time--long enough for me to come back to it as a teacher and then a Dean. WYU has been gone, effectively, since about late 2000.
In a harsh game it was a place of haven and fellowship and long lost friends. I miss them all.

I think mine really sums up how I feel about people in general.
There are many different ways of viewing something, there are wrong ways & then there is the right way, my way. Now get out of my way. Make way! What's a matter, didn't get your way? I bet you can't guess how much I way...

I think the first part of mine is fairly self-explanatory. It's my favorite poem/song in the entire Chronicles.
The second part is from Don McLean's Vincent (Starry Starry Night), and it is in reference to my brother, Stephen. It was one of his favorite songs and Van Goh, who the song is about, was one of his favorite artists. And, my brother was beautiful...soooo, hence the reason that is there.
The first part I change from time to time. Not too often. But the second part will always be there.

And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.
~fly fly little wing, fly where only angels sing~
~this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you~
...for then I could fly away and be at rest. Sweet rest, Mom. We all love and miss you.

Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion
I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.

Mine comes from the person who has taught me so much, even though he passed on long before I met him. He brought me here, to this wonderful home where I now know love and caring. Furls Fire's brother, Stephen, an exceptional man whose wisdom and light live on; said those final words to her before he departed this world and moved on to the next.
I quote him and honor his name, his light.

I don't have a signature...yet. I'm trying to get over a difficult period here where I am now Chainlink and used to be another poster here and I'm still carving out my new identity and getting adjusted to being back. And trying to deal with some of the malcontents here as well. Anyhow, check back in a few months for whatever signature I create...
