Glorious Passing (Isaiah, 1966-2004)

Post by Furls Fire »

In Loving Memory of Isaiah John Adderly (ShadowLurker)

Born into this life: January 3, 1966
Called home to Heaven: March 7, 2004

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.(KJV)

Isaiah touched all of us in so many ways. And now, his suffering is ended and he is in the arms of the Father. I envision him now sitting along side the river with Stephen, speaking softly, as the light of Heaven shines all about them.

Farewell dear friend, I love you, will always love you. You brought me a joy beyond words. May you lay cradled in the arms of the Father for all eternity. May His Grace flood you with Peace. And may you always dwell in the Light of His Love.

"And I believe in you, although you never asked me too, I will remember you and what life put you through..."

Isaiah...HAIL!!

I am so sorry to hear that Furls. I really liked him. It's a shame he didn't make it. But any words I say will sound anile and weak... I can't say anything other than sorry.

Words fail at the moment...

My most heartfelt sympathies Furls. :(
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. It is a shame that the people originally around Isaiah did not have the grace or proper love to give him. If I ever had a reason to be proud of Kevin's Watch this is it. That Stephen's writtings and Tracie's love made it possible for Isaiah to reach out via this medium. He has finally known the love that was his birthright and Stephen will guide him to that love on the otherside. Tracie is an angel on earth for providing Isaiah with a soft place to fall,

A Soft Place To Fall: Allison Moorer.

Daylight has found me here again.
You can ask me anything but where I've been.
Things that used to matter seem so small,
When you're looking for a soft place to fall.
Don't misunderstand me, baby, please.
I didn't mean to bring back memories.
You should know the reason why I called:
I was looking for a soft place to fall.

Looking for a soft place,
Nothing more than a small taste,
Of a love that ended long ago.
Looking for a place to hide;
A warm bed on a cold night.
I didn't mean to hurt you, no, no, no.

Looking out your window at the dawn.
Baby, when you wake up, I'll be gone.
You're the one who taught me, after all,
How to find a soft place to fall.

You're the one who taught me, after all,
How to find a soft place to fall.

Fear not, dear people. ShadowLurker will always be here with me.

There he is the earth and the sunlight, the leaves of trees, the eagle's flight. He is alive. And all who ever died live; they are reborn and have no end, nor will there ever be an end.
One wide forest of sentience and passion filled all the region - one mind and heart alive in every leaf and bough of every tree among the many myriad throngs and glory of the woods.Image

It's amazing. I feel like he's still here. It feels like just yesterday that he graced us with his presence, and he still is gracing us. It honestly feels like he's still here--as if he is about to respond to our posts at any moment. It's unreal. I don't think he's not gone. No, not at all. A person who had a near-death experience once said that death is just like "walking through a door". It’s that easy, but we just worry so much about it.

Shadow’s not really gone. He’s stepped through that door, and he’s with Stephen now. I can almost picture what Shadow would say to us. He'd probably say not to worry, that he's fine, and he's in a much better state and a far better place.

Rest well Shadow.

My deepest sympathy to you, Furls, who loved him.

Forgive the rather long passage, but it's John Donne:
...And when she (the church) buries a man, that action concerns me: all mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated; God employs several translators; some pieces are translated by age, some by sickness, some by war, some by justice; but God's hand is in every translation, and his hand shall bind up all our scattered leaves again for that library where every book shall lie open to one another.....The bell doth toll for him that thinks it doth; and though it intermit again, yet from that minute that that occasion wrought upon him, he is united to God. Who casts not up his eye to the sun when it rises? but who takes off his eye from a comet when that breaks out? Who bends not his ear to any bell which upon any occasion rings? but who can remove it from that bell which is passing a piece of himself out of this world?

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee....

John Donne, 1624. Devotions upon Emergent Occasions, No. 17.

Words escape me. I do not think I can put it more beautifully than what has been written before. He has found peace.

I think Isaiah would have agreed with this quote. You too, Tracie?
"To lose the earth you know, for greater knowing; to lose the life you have, for greater life; to leave the frineds you loved, for greater loving; to find a land more kind than home, more large than earth-

"-Whereon the pillars of this earth are founded, toward which the conscience of the world is tending - a wind is rising, and the rivers flow."

You Can't Go Home Again, by Thomas Wolfe
Maybe one day we'll all join Isaiah and Stephen by their flowing river.

And J. R. R. Tolkien wrote:
"Awake, Turin son of Hurin Thalion! On Ivrin's lake is endless laughter. She is fed from crystal fountains unfailing and guarded from defilement by Ulmo, Lord of Waters, who wrought her beauty in ancient days."

Then Turin knelt and drank from that water, and suddenly he cast himself down, and his tears were unloosed at last, and he was healed of his madness."
May we all, living, departed, and unborn, "drink and be whole again beyond confusion." (I think that line is Robert Frost, but am not sure.)

Hail, Isaiah ShadowLurker!

The sun may set without your help
but you're beautiful to me
You may fall before you're pushed
but it's beautiful people I see
If you only see the stars when it's dark
that's enough for me
An empty soul with a full opinion
is beautiful people to me

-from "Beautiful People" by Big Country

A simple tribute not just to Shadow and Stephen, but to all my fellow Watchers. KW is a beautiful place to be, whether in joy or sorrow.

Beautiful responses everyone :) Wonderful quotes and songs. All of which he would have loved I'm sure.

Fist, what does your sig mean?

Going thru his personal belongings I came across a couple of letters he had written. One was to me, and one was to all of you...

To all my friends on Kevin's Watch,

If you are reading this, it means that I have passed on and Tracie has done as I asked. I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed being a member of this great board, you are all wonderful and caring people. You all showed me so much love, love that I never even knew was possible. You all made my final days warm, joyous and peaceful. Please remember to always love each other and never ever change, you are all beautiful. Thank you for being my friends and accepting me and loving me for who I was. If I have one regret, it is not speaking out when I first came to Kevin's Watch. That would have been more time with all of you. Enjoy the new books! Maybe, from where ever I will be, with Stephen somewhere I hope, we will be able to look over a certain angel's shoulder as she is reading them and we'll find out happens too. <grin>. Don't cry for me, smile for me. I am in that glorious, wondrous place now, with that beautiful person we have all come to love. Take care of each other, love each other, and always be the wonderful people that you are.

I love you all!

--Isaiah

I want to apologize for just posting his passing yesterday and running. My heart was crying and I could barely type out what I wanted to say. I miss him.

Russ and I have decided to change the baby's name from Stephen Clarke to Stephen Isaiah. I think they would both smile at that. :)

Life goes on...

Again, beautiful responses in his honor...

"My cup runneth over..."

Peace,
Tracie :)
And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.

Not sure how much of my sig is sanskrit, though some. It's from Zindell's Neverness books. It's the language of the race of people known as the Alaloi, who are a pretty amazing race, for various reasons. It's a prayer for the souls, meaning, basicallly, rest in peace.
