Was it Eremis that attacked Gilbur?

Do you think that it was Eremis that attacked Gilbur and stole all of his things? I certainly do... because that's exactly the type of wanker he is... :P

I don't know where the quote is off of the top of my head, but I do think I saw somewhere in AMRT where Gilbur himself suspected that... :?

And Eremis would certainly be capable of something like that. :|

I had actually been wondering that, since I'm rereading the books...since Eremis rescued Gilbur, instead of KJ doing it like he thinks...I think it most likely that he did fuck Gilbur over.

^I just had a nasty and rather repulsive image in my head thanks to that post... *barf*

I think so to... The exacts words he used are...
He had come through that experience mangled in spirit as well as in body. It had made him who he was: hungry and violent; eager for power; devoted to Eremis. Many times since joining the Congery, he would have run amok, if he hadn't been restrained by Eremis' presence - or crippled by the suspicion that it was Eremis who attacked him in the first place.

I suspect it was Eremis that trapped Gibur in the avalche, thereby manipulating Gilbur to think of him as a rescuer. It would be just the sort of thing that Eremis would do.

Hmmm, I feel like we discussed this elsewhere and came to the same conclusion, although I seem to remember there was some evidence...

Wasn't it Eremis' pet gigaworm that did it to him? (or the mirror with earthquakes and landslides Eremis gang used several times) It would have to be him then.

I am uncertain there's any evidence...
I'm quite inclined to be suspicious of Eremis, all the same. :shifty:

Oh yes, agree with that. So...he didn't confess to doing it?

Oops, I should have had "Reply Notification" for this thread...no, Eremis never confessed to Gilbur or anyone else that he caused the collapse that trapped Gilbur...and we as readers are never told, so maybe he didn't do it.

On the other hand, this is still the strongest evidence we've got that maybe he did do it. :-x

:LOLS: I dunno...he could have just rescued him because it would give him an advantage...doesn't mean he engineered it.

Don't be silly, of course he did it.

Thanks, MsMary. Now I'm more confused (and less silly? NAH!). :goodnevil: ;)

Although we were inside Gilbur's head here, I would think that this quote is *our* hint that it was, indeed, Eremis.

Of course, Gilbur could just have been a raving paranoiac... ;)

When in doubt, repeat: Eremis did it. Eremis always did it.

For justification's sake: if it wasn't him, how did he know to come to his rescue?
