Welcome to the Fantasy/Sci-Fi Forum, Q & A

Things are changing on the Watch, and there's a lot of 'shuffling' that's been going on since I became a mod here; so much, that I never noticed we didn't have a proper greeting here, until the thought came to me last night just as I was falling asleep. Chances are that that's happened several times, but this time I remembered when I woke up! So, greetings everybody! The people who post here have played very nice, but I'd like to impose a few 'posting rules', just so you know we have them. Besides, they were written posthumously by the Godfather of Science Fiction himself! Here they are:

Isaac Asimov's "Three Laws of Posting"

1. A Poster may not injure a Moderator or, through inaction, allow a Moderator to come to harm.

2. A Poster must obey orders given it by Moderators except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

3. A Poster must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

:screwy:

Anyway, questions, suggestions, and the like are welcome here.

That seem pretty fair, Mufasa.
I will abide by the rules so long as they don't confuse me. If I need further council I will pray to a thundercloud and you will appear. :D

Thanks for the advice, Mr. Whiskers.
A formal greeting for the fantasy/Sci Fi discusion thread is a good idea.

Hail to all that enter this realm.

:D

Can a poster invoke the "ALT+255 Law"?

Yes, but I can revoke it.

No, no. In fact, it took me a minute to remember what you were talking about....No, it just hit me that every other forum has a page like this for greetings and Q & A, and I hate to be left out.

Well, the new boss is in town, and there's going to be some changes around here....

..Okay, so maybe not. I'm pretty tolerant and (lazy/) easy-going, so I don't expect to be doing much editing, deleting or locking of posts; but I will try to hold people to the guidelines when necessary, and if there's trouble--which I doubt; this isn't exactly a contentious forum--it'll be dealt with.
Anywho, now that's over with.... Carry on.

The Myth of the Spoiler:

As mod of this forum, I feel I should make clear my stance on spoilers. So here it is: They're a false idea. If a book is good, knowing plot details won't ruin your enjoyment of it.

Feel free to censor your posts and spoiler tag at your own discretion, but in general, you won't be pressed not to reveal things in here.

The one caveat:
If a poster requests no spoilers when they start a discussion, then please respect their wishes.
