Personally I'd change Lord Foul's name... it's just not... menacing. It's like calling him King Evil or something... imho.

Anything you guys would prefer to have been different?

So. Any ol' way. The only other thing I would've changed was TC and Foamfollower's trek to Foul's Creche. I thought Tolkien did it better with his Frodo/Sam trek to Mount Doom. I guess it just didn't feel long enough.

I think that was just about right. TC had had such a long and arduous journey before that, pushing himself towards Morinmoss after Lena's death that if SRD would've made the last trip any longer it would've been too much.

I'd make the Land a little more real. I mean it feels a little bit unpopulated for having such a big army and such. We know nigh nothing about it save Revelstone and those 2-3 stonedowns that get mentioned.

Yes.

Every time I start to say what I'd like changed, I then remember how that thing affects the rest of the story, and once I remember the importance of even the most distasteful things (like TC's outburst after the battle at Soaring Woodhelven), I can no lo0nger wish them to be changed. I do wish that Lena's parents could have come to peace with themselves, rather than die with such ppain inside, but if they did, I think it would have minimized the guilt Covenant felt, and minimized the emotional impact of his rape. See what I mean?

I agree, dANdeLION. Everything in the story is so tightly integrated that one change messes things up. Yes, even changing Lord Foul's name might have consequences.

Nothing. Seeing as this is my favorite literature of all time, I would change nothing.

(Although I would have liked to see Pietten either "healed" or brought to some kind of peace).

I would have changed Thomas' end part of the story. I would like to see him become a God of everyone in the Land. And also get even with the wankers in his town. And maybe put some Elves in the story.
