I seem to lose some every now and then. I receive a notification but then it's gone - anybody else have the same problem? If you have sent me one and not received a reply then please resend. Thanks

The only problem I have seen is that when I try to post, a screen comes up that says that it can't locate the page. That is why, in some places, I have posted twice.

It just did it with the post above. It said "Page cannot be displayed." It does this all over this site.

I made a small adjustment, do you (or others) still get this happening?

Well, its happened to me before, will let you know if it happens again. My main problem is that I'll be signed on and sometimes when I try to post something, all of a sudden I'm not signed on anymore. Does this happen to anyone else? It's probbalysomething that I'm doing wrong, I'm relatively new to computers and internet stuff. Anyone have any pointers for me to stop this from happening?

OK

That logging in and out problem is predominantly AOL related.
I believe I have a fix for both of you so please check and see if it works:
kevinswatch.ihugny.com/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.cgi/000000A/http/kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/
Once there, then close THIS window and log in again with the new window and let me know if you have any difficulties. All that I'm doing is letting you browse via a proxy server - it helps filter out any problems that might be caused by your ISP and sometimes by your PC setup. Let me know how it works

Vain, you must be da man! So far I've gotten no error messages and I've stayed logged in the whole time. Yay! Do I need to go through your linkee thingee every time I come to the Watch, or will stay in my computer like a cookie?

AOL uses a proxy farm with IP's spread across a Class B address range. That is the IP a user may be browsing under can change from one page to another and be anything in the range A.B.x.x.
Well - that's the official explanation. I have made another adjustment. Try it without the link thing and let me know how it works

Here I am and everything is cool! Thanks, Vain
I stand corrected. I still get "this page cannot be displayed."

nevermind, i'm getting those error messages again even though my post is getting through somehow. think i'll switch over to your linkee thingee again -- but i AM still logged on, which in and of itself is a great improvement! all my techie friends keep telling me to get rid of aol...but i can't

too many people come looking for me for family history stuff. and my aol address is all over the place on the web. darn it!

but you still da man Vain!

I must profess complete ignorance insofar as AOL is concerned. Never used it before but I have read some funny things about it
That link thing might slow you down slightly but it's still reasonably fast

Lets try this. It's a new day so maybe all the bugs are worked out.
I still get the same message although my post goes through. Go figure!

Actually, Vain, the missing PM thing has been happening to me lately, too.

I'll get the notice in my email, but when I get here, there is no PM.
