I love this movie.

Mel Brooks' Star Wars/Star Trek/sci-fi movies in general spoof...
Dark Helmet-WHO MADE THIS MAN A GUNNER?
Cross-eyed officer- I did sir! He's my cousin!
Helmet- Who is this guy?
Admiral dude- He's an asshole, sir.
-Yes I can see that but what's his name?
Admiral- Asshole, sir! Major Asshole!
Helmet- Jesus Christ, how many assholes do we have on this ship!
Dark Helmet- I see your Schwartz is as big as mine.
Dark Helmet- So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph...because good is dumb.
Dark Helmet- We were told to comb the desert so we're combing it.
(two soldiers are using giant combs in sand)
Dark Helmet: Findanything yet?
Soldier-Nothing sir!
(two more soldiers with a huge comb)
Helmet How about you guys?
Henchmen: Notthing sir!
(another two more soldierswith a smaller big comb)
Helmet What about you guys?
Henchmen: We ain't find shit!
And of course...there's Yogurt...and Barf...and aw man this movie rules. Watch it. Now.
edit: And how bout them other Brooks movies? Namely, Young Frankstein!

Princess Vespa: Yogurt, the wise.
Dot Matrix: Yogurt, the all-powerful.
Barf: Yogurt, the magnificent.
Yogurt: Please, please, don't make a fuss. I'm just plain Yogurt.

Though I'm not the fan of Spaceballs that others seem to be, I nearly split my gut laughing at the nearly endless ship gag.

Dark Helmet is the man. He rivals Elwood Blues, in my book.
Dark Helmet- Yes. We're going to have to go right to: ludicrous speed!
*collective gasp*
Admiral: Ludicrous speed?! We've never gone that fast before...I don't know if this ship can take it!
Dark Helmet- What's the matter? Chicken!

The really funny thing about this quote is that it wasn't an admiral - the character's name was Colonel Sanders - thus making the chicken accusation much more funny.
My favorite is when Helmet is playing with the actions figures and he has Princess Vespa say "You're helmet is so big!"

Did you notice the "We ain't found shit!" guy is Tuvok from Star Trek: Voyager?

ROTFLMAO!
Yes! I forgot that line, it's great!
How about this one - "Why didn't someone tell me my ass was so big?"
We should expand this thread to include the other great Mel Brooks movies. I love History of the World, Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein.

Ah yes, Young Frankenstein is a great movie. How about Robin Hood: Men in Tights? I'm pretty sure that's Brooks, too.

Spaceballs is classic. My personal favorite Brooks film has got to be Blazing Saddles, though.

Blazing Saddles is IMO the best - there are so many classic one-liners in that movie!

I haven't watched Spaceballs in years, but I do remember one scene that was simply priceless: Mel Brooks (as the Colonel?) orders his men to chase down our heroes around a corridor. They come back...but not with the actors! By mistake, they've captured the stunt doubles!!
That moment was so looney and inspired, I was beside myself! One of the funniest scenes of any movie.

"Pardon me, Is this England???"
I loved TO BE OR NOT TO BE. and all his others as well. I always thought everything Mel Brooks did turned to gold. ; )

Well, I'm not so sure about Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
Spaceballs rocks though. I think my favourite scene is when the Spaceballs are combing the desert, and the reaction of the two men with the afro comb.
It's almost a shame that they never made Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money.
