Thank you, Despiser. I wasn't sure I wanted to go to this, because the setting is bound to be so different. I'm glad to hear the good opinion.

I really want to go see that but it isn't out in the UK yet. Nice to know it isn't all that bad.
At least if it was that bad there is still Vin Diesel to watch it for...mmm...

yeah, he was definately vin diesel in the movie...
there were a FEW parts where he did the predictable cliched action thing...but...the majority of it was done really good...
i mean, it may not win any oscars for acting or best movie, but...still a good one

We're going to see it this weekend. It doesn't matter to me if the critics like a movie or not. I like to be my own judge. I don't have to critique, I just want to be intertained. If Vin Diesel is in it, it can't be all bad. A lot of people didn't care for Van Helsing either, but I was entertained and it provoked a lot of thought. Guess I'm just a deeeeep person, finding some food for thought almost everywhere.

Now it sounds interesting--dumb old Hollywood Mike--lumped it in with Troy today on 94 Rock as one of the year's worst films. Screw him I liked Troy-he's a gossip sleaze queen with taste out his ass!

Haha, that was harsh Danlo!
I would like to go see it... I think that's the only way to get "Convert now or fall forever!" off of constant replay in my head.

I really enjoyed it. But everybody I know who is not a Sci-Fi type has hated it so far. They say it was too predictable. My wife is one of those, but I must qualify her opinion by saying she hated "Pitch Black" too, while I thought it was marvelous. In fact, it was what I expected from Aliens, but never got.
Still, I kept waiting for Vaako to shout out "Riders of Rohan!!"

I'll agree with that. Pitch Black is the Aliens that should have been.

It's an animal thing.
It is thoroughly elemental. I enjoyed it.
That's some sunrise.

Personally I thought Aliens was a great sequel, being just as good or surpassing Alien. Far more action-oriented, whereas Alien is more of a horror flick.

You know what though, without the films of past, the original old school Alien & Alien(s) there wouldn't be a film like Pitch Black. I think that Pitch Black is kind of like the Alien of this generation.
I'm a huge Alien fan, I have the 12 disc Quadrilogy (Side note, no such word as Quadrilogy, should have been Tetrology, but I guess marketing wise they went wtih Quad cuz it sounds cooler.)
Cheers.
