So, what are you favourite music videos, and why?

I like Unpretty, by TLC, because it conveys the message of the song na very real and direct way. It's not that I like it when the girl cries out in pain when they remove her breast implant, but it is quite powerful.

I also like Numb by Linkin Park, and Madonna's Like A Prayer is a classic.

Sum sui generis

Don't watch them, but if I had to choose I'd pick Tom Petty's "Mary Jane's Last Dance", solely because it had Kim Basinger in it. Otherwise, my top choice is "Strawberry Fields Forever" by the Beatles. Musical geniuses, early psychedelia, and bad 1960s special effects. Can't beat that.

Good choice Foul...also look at Petty's "Don't Come Around Here no More".

Tool - "Sober"
QOTSA - "No One Knows"
Bush - "Angry Fly"
Primus - "Winona Had a Big Brown Beaver"
Korn - "A.D.I.D.A.S."
Blind Melon - "No Rain"
Metallica - "One"
Alice in Chains - "Angry Chair"
Nine Inch Nails - "Closer"
White Zombie - "Thunderkiss '65"
Rob Zombie - "Dragula"
Radiohead - "Karma Police"
Beastie Boys - "Intergalactic Planetary"
Mack 10, Ice Cube, Snoop - "Only in California"

Heh, that's all I can think of for now. Basically, I enjoy any video that doesn't include a shot of the lead singer squinting in ersatz passion at the microphone while lipsynching a three second clip of his song or featuring band members doing their best to be hard core while sounding like sissies.

Just the first few that come to mind (so probably just ones that have played recently):
Ash - Starcrossed - for the story told more than anything.
Linkin Park - Breaking the Habit - I just like the animation.
Radiohead - Just - I don't see how any Radiohead fan can possibly fail to include this one.
Muse - Sing for Absolution - Cos I couldn't leave Muse out of the list.

Stone Sour-Bother :Video just seemed to fit the song
The Darkness-Growing on Me :just because it is so odd
Red Hot Chili Peppers-Don't Stop. : Because it is quite abstract
Tool-Schism :only saw it once but it was enough to get me to remember it and buy the album. So it must have been good!
Korn-Freak on a Leash As it adds animation aswell.
Guns and Roses-November Rain :it is a classic and must have cost a small fortune!
Audioslave-Cochise : mainly for the bass player if I am honest.
Gorillaz-clint eastwood : this video always made me smile.

Am sure there are others but can't think of them now.....

Fat Boy Slim's "Weapon of Choice," IIRC.

Yeah, the melting barbies and the cheshire grins were great. Clint Eastwood was awesome. I saw that on M2 months before it started getting serious
air play. M1A1 was a great album, all around.
