Casting TC

This thread has probably been covered before, but alas, I shall start one anew. It has been discussed within other topics too, but ...who shall play TC in a potential movie? Remember, can't be a hunk... has to be able to be dour and pissy... my votes:
1) Guy Pierce
2) Hugo Weaving
4) Keifer Sullivan
3) Kevin Bacon
Thoughts?

Guy Peirce - Do you mean Guy Pearce, who starred with Hugo Weaving in Priscilla? Much too "Cute"
Keifer Sutherland - Too thick, I've always pictured TC as very slender.
Hugo Weaving - Would be excellent in my opinion
Kevin Bacon - Also probably too "cute"
Thomas Covenant has always seemed very slim, and haggard looking to me.
After seeing Gary Oldman playing Sirius in HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban, also seems like a very good choice.

What about Gary Oldman? I try not to get too hooked into looks. So long as we are not in Hunksville (a la Heath Ledger or Banderas) I can live with "thick"... Sullivan mayhave the anger needed to manage the role.

I never would've thought of him before, but after seeing his portrayal of Sirius in PoA, and the way they made him up, and his build, and basic look, combined with his ability to play such dramatic parts, he would also be a good choice as TC, IMHO.

You know who might be able to pull it off, Eric Bana (Pronounced Baa Naah). Yes, a lot of people hated Hulk, but he was a decent Banner, and in Troy he played his role well. But he has that kind of darkish rogue look to him, scruff him up a bit, make him grow some five oclock shadow and I think he'd do it well.

Could be. Not very hunky (though very HULKY..this from Darth Revan's book of puns...heh). I disagree with Viggo, however. He would make a much better mHoram!

Eric Bana could certainly look the part in the face, and probably pull off the portrayal, but, he's got a really buff upper body. My mental picture of Covenant's build is shorter and skinnier than Eric Bana. The man's pecs are about an inch off his ribs.

Don't get too hung up on those sorts of details. After all, who thought that Tobey MacGuire would be so good as Spidey, eh?
