Well met! Now if we can only find that third Hotmail user, we can petition MS to make Hotmail cool again. :)

Hi. I read the First Chronicles back in the late 70's when they were first published. Same with the second in the 80's. I am now reading these again before I start on the third for the first time.
God is time. And time is not compassionate. The instant we’re born our lives start to trickle away, like the sand in this hourglass. Death is always inevitable. Our destiny is nothing but the connection of cause and effect. In light, in shadow.

Welcome, @tlaloc!
I'm part way into PTP right now. There's a thread discussing rereads ... it's around here somewhere. They're a little ahead of me, so I'm trying to catch up.
Found the thread/s. Check out: Board index - Stephen R. Donaldson Forums - Group Reading

Hi guys, I discovered the chronicles in the late 70's when I was a teenager. I remember visiting bookshops in the early 80's waiting patiently for the next volume of the second trilogy to arrive.

I read them all back to back 3 times and I'm now starting them again 40+years later.

Welcome, tlaloc and Kenny! I enjoyed the Last Chronicles a lot, particularly the second book Fatal Revenent. .ay you enjoy your journey through the earlier Chronicles once more! I need to reread all ten books myself, something I haven't done since the year 2017.

Joined QUITE awhile ago but never really posted (life stuff) and then was AWOL for a long time... and by the time I came back recently, there was not much discussion and I didn't really know who was around.

... and now I FINALLY just finished The Last Chronicles yesterday after having the books for some years without reading them. Yes, I finished TLD close to its 10th anniversary of publication, lol. Was kind of blown away by the last 75 pages or so... and then underwhelmed by the epilogue and am still trying to figure out how I feel about it. Was thinking I might have missed all the forum discussion, so I'm happy to see some people are still checking in here.

Anyway, I read the first two trilogies when they came out during my teenage years. Part of the First Chronicles and the whole Second Chronicles was very formative for me, they've been close to my heart for decades now.

It took me a few years to find the time for the last couple books, too. And also read 1&2 in my teens. The experiences were very different for me. I'm looking forward to rereading the last books again to see if my opinion was too heavily skewed because of how attached i was/am to the first Chronicles.

Finishing up TPTP right now - in the hopes of catching up with the discussion in: Board index - Stephen R. Donaldson Forums - Group Readings
