Im one of those pack rats who, when I develop and interest in something, I collect everything I can find relating to that subject.

Being an avid Tolkien fan for many years, I have a modest collection of paraphenalia.

Besides the countless calendars Ive collected over the years, I have 5 editions of the trilogy, 3 editions of The Hobbit and The Silmarillion, The Maps of Tolkiens Middlearth, a set of 6 beautiful prints by Alan Lee, large mosaic wall hanging, Lord of the Rings Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit, The Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings board games, the theatrical editions of each movie and accompanying sound tracks and movie and photo guides, the special extended edition of the first two movies (waiting for number 3), a couple of audio tapes of readings from the Silmarillion, The Lord Of The Rings Oracle ( kinda like a fortune telling set) and I recently acquired 4 Collectors sets of special edition LOTR coins from the Perth Mint... theres a few other things as well, eg collectors cards and posters etc but thats just about it. Im always on the lookout for new additons.

Does anyone else have a Tolkien collection??

My mom has a "Gandalf for President" badge that's been around since the 70s. I keep eyeing it covetously, but she keeps saying things like "Hands off, Boromir" and "Fade and go into the West already, Galadriel" and "You'll never gets the precioussssss." 8O Creepy.

So instead I make do with a "Frodo Lives" badge and a head-and-shoulders cardboard cut out of Aragorn.

I have a hardcover set of the trilogy, a trade paperback boxed set from the seventies, a Ballantine mass market pb set from the seventies and one of my prized possessions, the outlawed Ace editions of the trilogy.

I have a songbook from LotR poems set to music, a set of sixteen audiotapes from the radio version, a Ring on a chain, one of the collector's knives featuring Gandalf, the pocketwatch featuring Gandalf, the bobble-head of Gandalf, two Gandalf pewter figurines . . . seeing a pattern here.

I have numerous calendars, numerous bookmarks, a map of Middle-Earth, the recent artbook from the Brothers Hildebrandt, a DVD documentary of the trilogy, a CD of music from Rick Wakeman.

I have the theatrical DVDs (or videos) of all three films, and the extended versions of Fellowship and Two Towers. I have the four light-up glasses from Fellowship, featuring Gandalf, Strider, Arwen and Frodo, from Burger King.

I have the checkers/ring game. I have the TV Guides featuring the cast.

All of this stuff is in my bookroom, taking up perhaps one-tenth of the space. Another tenth goes to Star Trek, another tenth to Star Wars, another tenth to Stephen King - you get the idea.

Look up geek in the dictionary to see a nice photo of me. :P

Well, I won't list everything ... just enough to prove I'm hard core - or cool - or bizarre - or sad. (The pictures I linked to are just generic ones, not ones of mine own objects.)

I have that, too. And I don't even have a record player!

I have that 1978 soundtrack, too, but no longer have a record player to play it on.

Also forgot I have all three movie CD soundtracks. Some of the best music I've heard in the past decade.
