Data on Enterprise.........WHAAAAAAAAAA

LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- In a guest starring role sure to attract the attention of die-hard Trekkies, Brent Spiner, aka Lt. Cmdr. Data, is being beamed up to "Star Trek: Enterprise."
Spiner, who played Data on the syndicated "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and in several "Star Trek" features, has been tapped to do three episodes of UPN's "Enterprise," playing the great-great-grandfather of Dr. Noonien Soong, the creator of Data.
He previously played Dr. Soong in an episode of "Next Generation."
There has been a lot of speculation about another "Star Trek" veteran, William Shatner, possibly making a visit to "Enterprise," but sources indicated that there are no immediate plans for a guest appearance.
"Enterprise," originally scheduled for 9 p.m. Fridays in the fall, will now air at 8 p.m., to be followed by a repeat of the reality series "America's Next Top Model."

You know the show is really reaching when it has to grab old school actors in order to bring some new fans to the show.... Ah well, cheers.

Yeah. I read that on friday. I found it quite amusing indeed. It gives me the shakes just trying to imagine what rediculous scenerio these guys come up with. Gee I can't wait till they squeeze Q and Guinan into an episode. Wahoo.

Yeah! Pretty soon those idiot writers will be putting the Borg into an episode and concoct some kind of wierd story so that Picard's Enterprise will still be the "first" to encounter them......oh wait, that's already happened.

Because of course, such a little thing as encountering the Borg in Archer's time would not have been considered important enough to brief the commander of the Star Fleet flagship in Picard's time - hence the necessity of Q having to keep the Federation "in the loop."
SHEESH!!!!!
Red alert, Captain. Continuity anomaly. I repeat, continuity amomaly off the starboard bow!!

I still have not watched any episode of Enterprise (and have no real desire to). But from what my fellow Watchers say, this show seems to be the laughing stock of the Trek universe. This latest story only seems to add to the embarrassment.
But that hasn't stopped people from watching the show. I read that it's entering its 4th season now.
Maybe to complete the guest-star silliness, they should think about beaming up the entire cast of Galaxy Quest for an appearance.
Better yet, to heck with Scott Bakula and his crew. Give us a Galaxy Quest TV series! You can bet I'd watch that! Tim Allen and his "fake" Trek crew are far more interesting, and livelier, to me than the "real" thing at this point.
Is it safe to say that the Trek franchise is now at its nadir? Is it creatively bankrupt?

Yep
However, my problem with
Enterprise is ALL THE STINKIN' TIME-TRAVEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't watch the show, but I can't imagine how many synopses in TV Guide have said something about Archer going to the future. Again.
However however, I'll watch the one's with Spiner. He's a
real good actor! He did a good job as Data, and as Richard the Whatever on the holodeck, and in the episode where that giant probe took him over as it recreated the Enterprise, and as Soong, and as Lor...
Very cool actor.

I agree. I'm going to overcome my boredom with Enterprise and actually watch, because I know that with Spiner there, it won't be boring.
Add to the roles Fist listed, the hillbilly concession owner in Night Court, and Dr Oakum in Independence Day. I want Brent Spiner to be Hashi Lebwohl in The Gap.

God call on Hashi, Dragonlilly. Enterprise has bored me since its begining. I doubt Spiner will help.

I only saw one, but I was impressed with Spiner, as usual. The rest of the cast did nothing for me... as usual.

The three-parter with Spiner were the best Enterprise episodes to date. If these were typical, I would really like the show. Unfortunately, they are not, and I must still sadly rate Enterprise as the weakest sister of the Trek franchise.
