A humble suggestion

Morning Folks.

Just wanted to ask if it's possible to modify the "Most Recent Post" column on the main boards to include the title of the topic that was posted in?

That way, we'll kno if we're interested or not.

Just an idea.

It's possible - in fact, it's quite easy to add (just two small changes to index.php), but it does tend to clutter up that column of the page...

In the extreme right hand column of the main board, there is a link to the most recent post in a specific forum.

The link gives the name of the last poster, and the date that they posted on. I would like that column to also include the title of the thread in which the post was made.

This way, when there is a new post, we can tell at a glance which thread was added to, and know if we want to read it.

As things stand, clicking on that link is random in it's intent. You don't know which thread you'll end up in.

Obviously it's only neccessary on the pages which provide access to various forums, such as "The Collective", and not on each thread within the specific forum.

What do you think?

I don't know. I just click on the " View posts since last visit" and all the posts I haven't read show up and that's a lot simpler for me.

Vain - to see what he means in action, look at the right-hand column here.

Yes I figured out what he meant. Is that better than this?

I prefer it the way it is, but good suggestion, Avatar.

I like your avatar, Avatar.

~-Hierachy-~ No really, I do, I wasn't just saying it for the sake of saying it.

If you continue those stream-of-consciousness footnotes, I'll kick your ass at SRD in November :P

Thanks Hierarchy.
I've always thought the little guy in your avatar looks like Neelix from Voyager :)

I've always loved SofC, although I admit it can be overdone. When I find it, I'll post some SofC stuff I've written in the Hall of Gifts.

Take it easy folks, I'm off for the day.

Hier... He´s 6 foot 3 inches... You on the other hand, and forgive me for saying this; a complete and utter gimp. You have no chance. :P ;)

Yes, a six foot three inch wall of muscle. Or is that a six foot three inch wall of running away?

Bigger they are, the harder they fall.

~-Hierachy-~ Plus long legs means plenty of target... always go for the legs.

Sorry! Damn, I've been misreading it all along.
Funny how your brain just tells you what it expects to see.

Take it easy
