Gilden-Fire [spoilers]

Now I see where Fist got his name from, heh. Damn it, I'm kind of wishing SRD had included this in the Illearth War. Then again, it does mess up the whole Unbelief logic with the Bloodguard's perspective thingy. Darn Unbelief.
Anyway, I haven't finished it yet, but the insights on the Bloodguard Gilden are really mind-blowing. I never knew they communicated to each other like they did, had a fighting ritual thingy, etc. Also, that in-depth little retelling of how they made their Vow was about as close to a prequel as it will get. Great stuff! Find it, if you haven't read it!

Gilden Fire is a great read! The haruchai are fantastic, and Lord Hyrim is wonderful!

It doesn't get much better than this!

I absolutely loved being part of the GF dissection. b&b and I shared the book.
Yeah, actually "hearing" the telepathy was great! And not much compares with witnessing the Vow!!!!!

My only problem is that I was content until
Gildenfire. Now I want to know more about how Hyrim and Shetra managed the journey.
Sum sui generis

I loved Gilden-Fire.
But, I have always wondered how the
Haruchai knew who was sending the telepathic message.
From The Wounded Land:
But a voice spoke in his mind:
Ur-Lord
It was a voice without sound, a reaching of thought to thought. It came from Brinn. He had never heard the mind- speech of the Haruchai; but he recognized the speaker in the intensity of Brinn's gaze.
From Gilden-Fire:
..there had been a special timbre of exigency in Terrel's silent voice earlier that night as he had sent out his call to First Mark Morin.
-Summon the High Lord, Terrel had said..
How did Morin know it was Terrel?

My assumption was that the Haruchai, being more attuned to their mind-speech, would probably be able to tell whose "voice" was whose...but that's just a guess...
dumb question

It is a section of
The Illearth War that had to be cut from the novel...it has been published as a novella, which can be found as a used book readily on Amazon or ebay, and can also be found in some versions of the short story collection
Daughter of Regals.
It tells part of the story of the mission to Sea Reach from the point of view of Korik the Bloodguard.

*sigh* I loved reading Gilden-Fire...for one, it was a return to The Land at a time when I'd been reading loads of other things (including textbooks...Light, did I need a break!), and for another, it was so amazing to kinda get inside a Haruchai's head...fantastic!! If you haven't read it, do so!! Now!! What are you waiting for??!!!

Just finished Gildenfire now.
I loved hearing more about the Haruchai pre-vow.
The ceremonial fighting was particulary good.
