I used to skate a few years ago... I was ok at it.
Does anyone here skate?

Anyway, I really like watching it, looks cool. How about you?

I try... then I fall off; does that count?

I rollerblade a little bit. When I lived in Colorado, I went snowboarding almost every weekend in the winter. That's the closest I felt to flying. There's nothing like the feeling of feet of snow under your feet. It's as fluffy as cotton clouds, and your body becomes weightless as you skim down the slopes (on a good powder day). *siiiigh* I miss that.

Exactly! laaaaaa...

It'll start snowing here soon. 8)

I tried skateboarding... I wasn't very good. Now a friend has my skate... he probably lost it.

No. Standing on a wheeled plank. Hmm.

Snowboarding at least makes sense, but I'd fall off.

I used to skate a lot. Tried the local park but never progressed beyond the "baby pool" and various shallow bowls. I could never get up the nerve to drop into the half pipe so I gave it up out of shame. :-)

I used to skateboard in the late 70's for a
skateboard park in Clearwater.
I was a free-stylist and mainly did my tricks
on a flat area.
The bowls were a lot of fun,
but I wasn't good at that.
I also liked the downhill. The rush of the speed.
A friend and I was clocked by radar once at 37MPH.
(Now I'm on to bigger and better things -
Roller Coasters!)

I've never actually tried proper skatboarding but I had a few goes dropping into a half-pipe, it hurts something awful to fall over going down one of those. I kept trying until I scraped my leg right up and caused some very nasty bruising in my left hand

It's a shame I tried in the first place really.

Hey now, I can teach! :| I'll just approach it like those little kids I taught to swim

Oooh... I can't wait for it to snow... it was supposed to snow last night but it didn't. I'm crushed. :(

*speaking from experience*
It took a few months of falling down before
learning HOW to fall without hurting myself.
Then a few more months to learn how NOT to fall.

P.S. - Halfpipes are a blast, but not quite as easy
as it looks.

I will soon get a new board. At the moment I had a board with no gip plus my trucks had gone bad. I want to get a World Industries, Blind, Darkstar or one of Bam's HIM Boards. A good pair of Fury trucks, don't know which though...
Might get some Darkstar with ABEC 11, so i can go really fast.
