Tang's Garden. It's a local area Chinese food joint. It's the one every metropolitan area has. You know, has the ubiquitous fish tank, the little fountain you throw pennies in, and, of course, the Chinese-themed golden lion statues and red wallpaper. Not only that, but the last time I was there they played an Oriental-themed Fur Elise on the PA. Need I say more?

Oh yeah, the food's great too. Try the Mongolian chicken.

It has to be either Pepe's in Chester-le-Street (Italian restaurant, serves cheap but tasty food in reasonably quantity) or the restaurant in the Priesthouse hotel in Castle Donington (very small dishes, but unbelievably nice).

It would have to depend on the type of food.

My favorite Chinese restaurant would be Szechuan West in Ann Arbor. Very good and spicy food in a restaurant decorated to appear like a white washed cave, complete with waterfall.

Indian food would have to be the Raja Rani rajaranirestaurant.com/ in Ann Arbor. They bake a variety of breads daily, have very good spicy food, and are located in a huge Victorian house, filled with beautiful artwork.

Favorite deli would be Zingerman's www.zingermans.com in Ann Arbor. They have an unbelievable menu, and fly in gourmet items from all over the world. It is Damelon's source of vegemite.

Weis's Restaurant in Toowoomba. Its a restored English type manor house nestled in the Great Dividing Range. It specialises in my favourite food.... fresh seafood. *drool*

Droubis : Hosuton. Indian/Middle Eastern foods. also has groceries. excellent vegetarian options.

Hmm...never actually got round to trying sushi.

I've never actually eaten in a restaurant (other than fast food or a pub).

Therefore I'd have to say, through nothing other than lack of anything to compare it with:

The hungry horse, for their huge portions containing large amounts of meat. Their "gammon and infinite eggs" meal was delicious.

You really should try the infinite eggs, they're very similar to the finite ones, I'm sure you're like them.

It's hard to tell whether you're doing it just to wind me up or not...
I feel that if I don't reply I've somehow lost because no reply implies speechlessness.
But replying also seems like some kind of loss because it implies that I had no idea you were just doing it to wind me up, and by rising to the bait I've fallen right into your trap.

Therefore the only way to get out of it would be to delete the topic entirely. Unfortunately I don't have that power, so this reply will just have to suffice.

I'll conclude with: You come over here and I'll give you bacon and eggs!

Waffle House.If you have one in a small town near you go in there-the food is greasy and bland-but the people watching is great.

Bah! I love their food--especially the hashbrowns. The chocolate pie is delish!

Well I must admit I like them scattered,smothered,and covered. :lol:But my fave is a pecan waffle with sausage-mmmmmmmmm.

Never heard of gammon? Hell, comparing gammon to bacon is like comparing paper to tree's. Gammon steak, which is usual, is like, well, a steak made of bacon. Thick and glistening. Delicious. (I'd prefer if it was infinite gammon rather than eggs. Much more appealing.) You also get roast gammon, a big chunk of pig-meat usually covered in pineapple and cherries, with a honey glaze.

Hmm, my favourite restaurant. Not going to mean anything to you deprived northerners, but it's The Carnivore, an African style all you can eat type of place, with franchises in Nairobi and (I think) Mombassa.

50 meat courses, ranging all the way from your traditional beef & lamb, to more exotic, (for you) things like buffalo, giraffe, warthog and crocodile.

The true beauty of it is that you can have as much as you want. If you only like beef, you can eat beef until you're ready to pop. Or you can sample all dishes, and then return to your favourites. If you haven't spent four or five hours eating, you've wasted your money.

Skinny as I am, I can pack away vast quantities of food, especially roasted meat, so it's great for me. After every few courses, I pause for a smoke and a beer, and then get stuck in again. And when you absolutley can't continue without dying, they whick everything away and bring desert menus. Aah, Bliss!
