Do you play any online games? PBEMs, MUDs, Battle.net, whatever? Let's make this the thread to find victims among your fellow Servants of the Land...
I'm into
www.hattrick.org and
www.anstoss-online.org - both football management - and
www.nationstates.net , a kind of politics simulation. So if any of you play these too, I'd be glad to have a friendly match or get into diplomatic contact.

I have created the Rogue Nation of Zimbobwe - with a psychotic government flavour

I have two nations ... one for fun where I'm EVIL, EVIL, EVIL ... ruling is much easier once you've got rid of elections and execute anyone who thinks he has any rights to anything ...
And one which started out as a real mirror of my political views but has since warped a bit since I force myself to always decide for an option instead of dismissing an issue. Sometimes they're all
wrong ... or they seem right but turn out to have side effects you didn't expect.
sighs and tries not to think of his organ donations disaster
Anyway, I started a region, the 'Axis of nice nations', would be great if you moved there, Vain.

Neverwhere's my nation there.

That political simulation looks interesting. My connection is painfully slow tonight, so I'll look into joining it tomorrow.
I used to be in an online game called
Hundred Years War, where you led a noble family during that time. Of course I dropped out when they started charging for the game.
Right now I'm only in a friend's fantasy hockey league on Yahoo.

The connection to their server is terribly slow most of the time... They didn't expect more than 2,000 nations, now they have far more than 30,000 already.
I only have a 56k connection and there's no point for me in trying to visit the forum expect during about 11 to 12 a.m. here, when most of you americans are sleeping.

The Free Republic of Questimoon is born. So what if right now order is kept by biker gangs.

We're free.

Every now and then, I like a good game of checkers.

NationStates... they'll soon have to make up their minds wether to keep the game running once the book has hit the stores. If they'll continue, they desperately need new/more servers... I have completely given up on the forum for now, connection's too bad.
The other problem is they have only about 30 issues. I'm at two issues per day, so by now I've had every single one, or rather: had every one two times or more. While you can fix some mistakes this way, it does get boring.
I hope they'll get a grip on these things, the game idea itself is great.
Now, Neverwhere's mine and Questimoon's Damelon's... who else plays and with which country? Join the UN, folks, so we can get a delegate for the Axis of nice nations.

Sev - They improved the servers a couple of days ago, so it's not so bad getting on now.

Well, the game itself goes rather smoothly now, true, but the forum's as bad as ever for me.

I get done with that last post... Then it takes me 2 days to get through to join the UN.

Since they're neither supplying new issues nor getting those forums organized at NationStates, I looked around for similar games, you might be interested.
www.simcountry.com
Looks interesting, you can be both ruler of a country and CEO of a an enterprise. Documentation sucks, though. Everything's rather complicated and the help guide doesn't get you far.
games.swirve.com/utopia/
Looks even more interesting since it has a fantasy background.

Seems to be one of those games where your success depends on how much time you spend playing it online, so I don't think I'll get far - no broadband or flatrate here.
www.avidgamers.com/poluk/
and
www.avidgamers.com/polud/
Serious games ... take a look if you want to mess around with british or german politics.
Oh, and did I mention
www.hattrick.org rocks?

I was in a LOTR mud, mume.pvv.org or some such but I believe my character got deleted from long unuse....I was out for a break or something and new characters get deleted faster than long standing ones...also the Land mud if it ever gets up while I'm still in High School

A mixture between role-playing and society/civilization simulation... fascinating, if confusing in the beginning. Might be perfect for some of you.
If you join and are confused, turn to me.

In the past I have played both Everquest and Anarchy-Online, which are MMORPGS for those of you that know of such things. But I have stopped playing both of them now.
I have also played in Star Kingdoms, which was a game that is primitive enough to keep up with without a massive investment of time and effort. I have also tried Planetarion, but it was too demanding on my time.

There is anothere game I play called Earth 2025. Little bit like Nation States but instead of passing laws you build an army and attack other people.
