Do you consider your tastes eclectic?

Nothing wrong with liking music from just one genre or era, but a little eclecticism is nice now and again. Personally, I like to cool down from my hard rock with a little Bach. Very soothing. It's like getting in a hot tub after a lreally long belly surfing session. Heh.

Oh yea! Music definitely.....literally every class of music there is something--lots--that I love.
Same with people, furniture, everything.
Guess that says something about the person, huh?
What exactly, I don't know. But yes, music ,.....yes ecclectic describes it well.

I would say my music collection is eclectic, though lately I've only been listening to rock and classical, and the Star Wars movie soundtracks.
The only types of music I don't follow are rap, hip-hop, industrial metal or whatever new name it has, and country--I mean the wretched, unlistenable stuff of fakes like Garth Brooks. I respect the music of genuine, classic country artists like Johnny Cash and Marty Robbins.

I once would've said yes to this question, but actually, I don't think so. Sure, I can enjoy a lot of different types of music, but I really don't seek it out. Typically, I like Heavy Metal (or other subgenres thereof). Yeah, I have some swing, jazz, rap, and folk music in my arsenal, but I don't bring it out very often.

My collection is eclectic, though I tend to listen to only one genre at a time. I've been listening mostly to folk and rock for the last couple of months. (I *discovered* Steve Goodman a couple of months ago, a mostly folk singer)
A lot of times some event triggers a change in my listening patterns. I haven't listened to a classical piece in probably a month, but your question on classical inspired me to bring out a version of Mahler's unfinished 10th symphony, which I'm listening to now as I write this.

I think when Damelon and I were driving through Oklahoma, we saw the hometown of Garth Brooks. I'm pretty sure it was him, anyway. They had HUGE signs up about it.
Damelon said some pretty funny things about what a certain (nameless) Watcher would say if he had been with us.
I have a very broad collection of music, and while I do jumble it somewhat I also have tendencies to listen to certain types for a stretch at a time. Lately I have been a bit more into jazz, but I cannot say what it will be a month from now.

What Christian rock do you listen to? I like DA and the 77s the best. And Neal Morse, naturally.

Not really. I have a little bit of Jazz, Classical and Bluegrass in my collection but the vast bulk of it is either Indie or Electronica of some sort.

More eclectic than some, I'd say... but most of it could be classified in some way as "rock" or "indie" or something.
I mean, most music I listen to uses guitars. But there's a pretty huge variety within guitar-based music. My music collection ranges from New Wave to Black Metal. Plus I have some electronic stuff, some classical... so.... yeah.

I think my tastes are pretty eclectic.
I have nearly 3000 songs on my computer:
161 Alternative & Punk
157 Blues
130 Classical
20 Country
24 Electronica & Dance
85 Folk
720 Metal
49 Pop
1345 Rock
259 Soundtrack
There's a definite pattern there, but I still think it's pretty eclectic. Now I just need to make more space on my hard drive.

I can listen to a lot of stuff, but I like what I like, and I'm completely unapologetic about it. My taste is pretty much hard rock/heavy metal, with some other stuff thrown in.
