To balance the karma scale (or whatever bad excuse I can muster), I've decided to equalize things by make a "Life Sucks" thread, companion-piece to the pollyanna thread. Why does life suck? Well, you did just read this thread, didn't you?

Life sucks because: Sometimes it all seems so pointless.

Life sucks because: It sometimes seems as though pain and hate may over-ride all that is good.

Life sucks because: We have such a short time here.

Life sucks because: It's easier to misunderstand than to make the effort of understanding.

Life sucks because: There's so much uncertainty.

Life sucks because: Evil appears to be so much stronger than Good.

But it's not all bad...

Life sucks because: I have to get up at 7:30 AM and it's almost 2:00! Screw you, sun!

Life sucks because we have to work jobs we don't love to afford to do the things we love in our 'spare time'
Life sucks because there is no 'spare' time
Life sucks because you have to pay for college
Life sucks because it IS easier to misunderstand than to understand
Life sucks because people don't even take the time to find out of the last reason is true.
Life sucks because the people close to you leave and the people who irritate you tend to stick around.
Life sucks because I don't find the time to write, and when I do I don't find the guts to.
Life sucks because no one's getting out alive
Life sucks because people say I love you like it's an accusation.
Life sucks because fears seem greater than ourselves
Life sucks because the glass is either half empty, or totally empty.

Life doesnt suck.

Well, life can be very hard and unpleasant sometimes.

But it can also be sweet beyond my ability to express it in mere words.

I like this thread, it gives people a chance to vent without being contested. Even if life doesn't totally suck, and even if other people have it worse than us, it doesn't invalidate our personal hardships. I think it's cool to have a place to just vent.
oh yeah, and Life sucks because I can't find my copy of the wounded land..heh

Life sucks because I just found out my brake job is going to cost me 350 bucks. Isn't that special? But of course I have a means to pay the bill so life doesn't suck too badly. There have been times recently when there would be no way to pay.

Life sucks because I procrastinated and have to do a 2 page report on enzymes for bio lab. Now, and in and of itself, a two page report is nothing, but the subject matter? Oi!

Life sucks because I overslept.. again.. And my teachers are getting annoyed at me for coming late so goddamn often. *sighs*

Life sucks because this thread is depressing me

Life sucks because my girlfriend sleeps in all day, and wakes up crying because she didn't take her medicine.
Life sucks because there's no public healthcare to speak of in America, and I have friends with infections that can't afford doctors.

Life sucks because: We have such a long time here and everything becomes boring. The food, the sex, the drugs, the stubbornness of people, elections, war, peace, everything. It's quite rare that I ever see, hear, anything that is new or exciting... anymore.

If I died in my sleep tonight, never having hit 40, that would be fine with me.

Life Sucks because I have to read all this whining and depressing stuff in this thread!!
