Writing

Stuttering against the
Blank Whiteness,
Black-Ink Thoughts
Drip down my Arm.

The pen, Needle-like
in it’s Intensity,
Draining my words in an
Inverted Parody of
Intravenous Nutrition.

Feeding the Ichor of
my thoughts to
the ever-hungry page
as though they would last
Forever.

An unending cycle
of Desire
or Need.

Very good indeed, the imagery of the stuttering as you search for your words. :)

:P Any time. You use a lot of heavy-duty imagery; I like it, and it seems to help convey the sensation and nature of writing creatively. I particularly like the unending desire/need cycle - that's very much how it feels to me. Again, well done.

I agree with Loremaster.

Stunning.

Mind if I make a copy to use with my kids?

(English classes--heavy imagery to prove a point...It's amazing--and so exactly true.)

Glad you all liked it. I'm quite fond of it myself.

Cho-- By all means use it as you please. Hope it proves useful. (And I'm suitably flattered. (By you both.) ;) )

I really like how you wrap up the poem. You are drawn to the paper which is always hungry, always craving more of your thought food. The paper, however, is never satisfied so you must continually feed it.

Your thoughts are inked on paper, but they won't necessarily last forever. A writer's thoughts aren't static, they change. So back to the paper to alter or add to that which was written.

I like that it is and unending cycle. Possibly unending for both the writer and the ravenous paper?

Nice job!

:) Thanks Tulizar, glad you liked it.

I was thinking more along the lines that my thoughts may some day run out, but then, that's the beauty of poetry..."every ear hears a most unique song."

I like that interp. It seems pretty obvious now that you mention it. Of course, judging by your post count (and quality of those posts), it's unlikely that you'll run out of thoughts anytime soon :)

I love the notion that even though my interpretation of a poem might differ from the author's, I'm still right! Poetry rocks.

Now if I can only convince my boss that my job is like a poem...
