Thanks, Seareach!

How high does it have to go before it's considered a success?

I guess if it makes it to #1 it's considered a *real* success but, hey, if I had a book that was #21 on the NY Bestseller list, I'd be happy!

If it were up to me, it'd be number 1. I'd like to see it at least get in the top 10 and would be severely disappointed if it doesn't get in the top 20.

Hmm, I have to set up an account before I see anything.

I hope Runes gets into the Top 10 and then stays there for a long time. I don't want it to peak one week in the Top 5 and then plummet from the charts. But having a #1 New York Times Bestseller would certainly help to give SRD more clout in future dealings with publishers, and I'm all for that.

These numbers are based on only the first three days of sales. So as I understand it, it's VERY good. Should be interesting to see how high it climbs next week...

I'm tempted to say that to SRD at the signing next month ;)

Yes, we're barely starting. I'm very encouraged. The way word of mouth is going, I have high expectations.

Thanks for watching the list. I think I'll go google. :D

Has Locus magazine started tracking it?

Googling with these words:
Locus Runes Donaldson

I got a bunch of stuff, too much to read and copy. Have at it. :)

I notice that Amazon's list has RUNES low. I wanted to comment to them that there is no way I would have ordered RUNES in the mail and waited for it to come to me. I bought my copies off the nearest shelf. I know I'm not alone. :P

If it makes income, then it is a success in my book.
And I am sure that Mr. Donaldson will like
the success that RUNES will bring him.
(Not to mention our joy of reading another Thomas Covenant story.)

Yes, I thought that based on only three days of sales it was a great start. Hopefully SRD feels the same way! If it gets to #1 we should all have a party, although being in Australia I think it would be logistically impossible for me to get to a party any of you held. BUT I would be there in spirit! :D

We could have an IM party! But we'd have to invoke the honor system requiring that everyone participating would have to eat cake (or pie  ) and consume, at least, 5 alcoholic (or non) beverages apiece... 8)

Danlo, *complains* ! Does the honor system require indigestion? :(

I'm all for the IM party :D :D , a new one for each week it's on the bestseller list  but I refuse to have the hangover. :x

You wouldn't need an honour system with me: you'd be able to tell how much I'd drunk by the increasing inaccuracy of my typing!

I don't have cake or pie, but I do have maple nut fudge. :)

Runes was a very good read. I've been out of reading books for a while, in fact, I believe the last book was White Gold Wielder! I'm surprised that I could still do it.
