Several years ago RJ came to Brisbane and some friends of mine went to see him. That day I had an exam at uni, so I couldn't attend. My friends told RJ that I couldn't make it so he writes a nice message to me and signs it. I'll scan it and provide a link here.

He MUST be funny...I'm sure Path of Daggers was one huge joke to him: "Ha ha! Now that I have everone sucked into this world, I will give them a novel where absolutely nothing happens, and watch them try to justify reading the rest of the series!! Muwahahahahaaaaaaa!"
*grin*

In which case writing "Crossroads of Tedium" must have virtually caused him to die laughing.
