Dawngreeter/Starfare's Gem = Linden/Covenant?

Just something that I noticed in reading TOT and now WGW that there appears to be some kinda relationship between the Linden / Covenant and Dawngreeter / Starfare's Gem?
Maybe coincidental but if I remember right it just seems that when TC was in serious trouble, so was the ship yet Linden raggedly held in there just like dawngreeter. Losing the mast might be symbolic in some way too. When they then got misplaced into the Soulbiter, Linden almost froze to death and dawngreeter ripped down the middle yet TC(the ship) rallied some white gold & saved her. I'm doing this just from memory so this might be inaccurate. What do you guys think?
