I don't know if anyone here has enough Latin to proof this...if you don't just enjoy...the Latiny goodness! *MMMMmmmmMMMM Latin* (Must stop....I can stop anytime...) This has been my project for a week...this is as good as I can get it on my own.....and it's not rhymed or metered yet...for now I just want the constructions to be rendered as accurately as possible while still being relatively Roman...I allowed some Vulgateyness though...word order still English....ah! It's imperfect! NOOOO!

My heart has rooms that sigh with dust
And ashes in the hearth.
They must be cleaned and blown away
By daylight's breath.
But I cannot essay the task,
For even dust to me is dear;
For dust and ashes still recall,
My love was here.

I know not how to say Farewell,
When Farewell is the word
That stays alone for me to say
Or will be heard.
But I cannot speak out that word
Or ever let my loved one go:
How can I bear it that these rooms
Are empty so?

I sit among the dust and hope
That dust will cover me.
I stir the ashes in the hearth,
Though cold they be.
I cannot bear to close the door,
To seal my loneliness away
While dust and ashes yet remain
Of my love's day.

Cor mei habes conclava quae suspirant pulvere
Et cineres in foco.
Sunt purgandus et aflandus
Spiritui lumenis.
Sed non possum conari istud pernum;
Iam pulvis cinisque etiam revocant,
ut dilectus mi aderat.

Nescio quomodo dicere Vale,

Ut pulvis operiat me.
Turbo cineres in foco
Quamquam frigores.
Non possum pati claudendum portis,
Absignandum solitudinem mei
Donec pulvis et cineres etiam manent
Diei dilecti mi.

I always thought this was the best poem...no offense, I love SRD but his poetry is not up to his prose writing standards...but this poem rules.
